Escape to Bunkieland, a unique, artistic, dog-friendly glamping retreat in Nelson, BC, just 5 minutes from downtown.

Ideal for romantic couples, solo travelers, or friends seeking lake views, fresh mountain air, and a cozy place to reconnect.

Sleeping: Queen bed in the loft (ladder access) + double futon on the main floor.
No TV, but Wi-Fi is available.

Wander into the easy-access forest below the property and relax in the hammock—perfect for reading, cuddling, or unwinding with your pup nearby.

Shared with two other cabins: 2 bathrooms, kitchen, fire pit, sauna, and an outdoor clawfoot tub for cold plunges.

Come slow down and experience one of Nelson’s most creative and peaceful retreats.

I should have really read the whole discription before booking. It was a last minute reservation and the host was very accommodating. We are seniors and the loft was a bit much for us so Maria kindly made up the futon for us. It was raining while we were there so the outside facilities were a bit much. I will say everything is well kept and clean. I am sure if we were a younger couple and the weather had been a bit more inviting it would be a very nice place to rest and relax. Thank you Maria for your hospitality. Shelley, Dale and Liam.

I’m glad you found everything clean and well kept, and I was happy to help make the futon more comfortable for you. Funky Bunky is definitely a unique glamping stay, with a loft bed and separate outdoor/shared facilities, so it isn’t the right fit for everyone .. especially in rainy weather. We try to describe that setup as clearly as possible so guests can decide if it suits them before booking. Motorcycle trip

Great little place to stay during our motorcycle trip through the area. Amenities were clean and well stocked. As long as people are aware of what you’re getting and the fact that the bathroom, kitchen is separate etc. it was really cute and super fun. Felt like camping, but without having to lug any of the gear and a much more comfortable place to sleep. Just what we were looking for.
