Cape Refreshment is an ideal escape, where you can shake off the snow, recharge your batteries and melt into the soft glow of the the most spectacular sunsets anywhere.


This home is located in one of the quietest portions of the cape, and just three homes share your quiet paved road that extends from the beach to the bay. Located about mid-way between St. Joseph State Park, our central location is blessed with the clear waters of the gulf, and close proximity to the stores. The bay-side dock offers easy access for kayaker’s, boaters, waders, fishermen and the world famous scalloping of St. Joseph Bay.


Cape Refreshment is beach-front with an unobstructed view. Every room in the home looks over the turquoise waters and lapping waves of the Gulf of Mexico. The main floor has a King master with large shower and Jacuzzi tub in the master bath. The deck at Cape Refreshment extends across the entire western face of the home. As you step out of the large glass doors, the first half of the deck is fully enclosed by roof and screen, well lit and has a large ceiling fan. The second floor has a queen bedroom and a bunk room with 2 twin over twin beds. These rooms share a hall bath. Every bedroom opens through large screened sliding glass doors to a deck or balcony, allowing all guest the opportunity of being lulled to peaceful sleep by the gentle sound of rolling waves.

We LOVED our time on Cape San Blas at Cape Refreshment. It was a perfect space for us. The house layout, deck, screened in porch, comfortable and modern furniture, and sizable kitchen were all wonderful. And the primary shower was the best! The rental company’s instructions for our entry and departure were timely and informative. The beachfront house has super easy and quick access to the beach making it easy to get to the water to kayak and paddle board. And the deck provided amazing views, especially for the beautiful sunsets! Thank you for a wonderful stay, Cape Refreshment!

Absolute Perfect Vacation

We walked to get coffee every morning at Perkys and donuts at Webers next door. Every detail of this vacation was perfect! The water was crystal clear, the weather was amazing, and we had some delicious food. The downtown area of Port St. Joe is full of yummy restaurants and we loved The White Marlin. We may have seen 20 people on the beach and we never waited to eat dinner. This beach is so dog friendly and we built fires every night and had s’mores. Lastly.. the chair and umbrella company are top notch! Thank you Cape San Blas for giving us the most relaxing vacay ever and the memories we made with our children and dogs are so special❤️

It could've used a repair to keep toddlers or dogs inside porch. We didn't cook or use appliances but looked usable. Bedroom on main floor was very comfortable! Only drawback was duvet needed laundering. House could have used a deep clean before summer. The drawbacks mentioned were given to Coastal Joe and I feel they will address them. We've been to CSB several times w Coastal Joe and their rentals are reliable. I'd def take another vacay here!

It was such joy to be able to experience the gorgeous beach views from every room and the decks were fabulous. We loved the combination of the screened in porch and the open air decks. The deck furniture was also very comfortable and functional. This home is steps from the beach which made it so convenient for trips back and forth. We loved having evening bonfires on the beach and being able to bring our dogs with us to enjoy the beach. The trading post store is within walking distance, along with Weber's donut shop. We liked how this home was set back from the main road so we never heard road/car noise...just the lovely ocean waves. Beds were comfortable, unit well furnished, and as pictured/described. I will warn that the upstairs bedrooms have low ceilings, so if you are particularly tall you might need to be careful of your head on the ceiling fans. The upstairs is also a bit warmer than downstairs because it's open to below and hot air rises. I wonder if this could be more of a problem in the summertime with the higher temps. The kitchen was well stocked and lots of various appliances, pans, etc. we also appreciated the puzzles and games provided. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider booking this home again in the future.

My wife, two small pups and myself stayed at Cape Refreshment. We couldn't have been more pleased with the view and accommodations. The two porches (one fully screened in) were the perfect spots to relax and listen to the waves. Beach access is very convenient (no stairs) and close to the house. The home is close enough to walk to the Trading Post and is across the street from the walking/bike path. We used the $250 VayKLife voucher for beach gear, which was very convenient. A couple of suggestions would be to replace some of the torn screens on the porch and to make sure the deadbolts on both doors latch. If we return to the Cape, we would definitely stay at Cape Refreshment again.

Coastal Joe Rentals made the whole rental process smooth and easy. The house is beautiful and was FULLY furnished with everything you could possibly need! The house was very clean down to and including all the linens. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that this rental has all their linens cleaned by a professional linen service! The location is a very short walk to the local store, Weber’s Donuts and a few of the local restaurants. We had beautiful sunsets while sitting on the deck. We were so happy that we got to bring our fur-babies to the beach! We hated to leave but we’ll be back!

Perfect Get-Away House

We loved it here! You are only a few steps away from the ocean. One of the best beach areas on CSB and the water was shallow for a long way out so it was perfect for swimming. The huge screened in porch was perfect for starting and ending our day. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen fully stocked. And, Coastal Joe was wonderful to work with, very quick response time and super friendly. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect Porch!!!

We had the best time on our vacation. The porches on this house are a dream. Perfect for drinking coffee, dinners, watching the sunset! We brought our dog and she loved having all the space on the porch to relax. Also felt this was a great location for kids. The bunk beds were a huge success and low to the ground which I loved for the littles. And being right on the beach made it easy with kids to be able to run back up for snacks and drinks as well as carrying everything to the beach. Overall we had a great time and felt the house served us and our needs perfectly. Would definitely stay here again!

Great family vacation spot

This beachfront house was the perfect location on the cap with easy walkway to the beach. Our family of four stayed there and it was the perfect setup, not a huge house but great because the communal space, kitchen and decks were huge. The kitchen was newly remodeled and the whole house had new floors. The furnishings looked to be new too and main bedroom bed was super comfy, though our youngest son (5’3” at age 11) said the bunk beds weren’t as great but and did look a little small. One reviewed said Moses used the grills and that might have been true ha! We used the small one once and it was rough. We love to grill fish at the beach so hopefully a new grill is in the plans. Otherwise, the house was awesome for us and we would totally return. Looks like there are a couple renovations that might be done to things like the siding and shades but the inside was perfect and the beachfront access and view was everything we wanted.

A little surprised to wake up on our 3rd day there with contractors with ladders and tools all over our deck doing work (making the deck unusable). Asked them to leave but they spoke no English, just smiled and continuously shook my hand. We did not expect workers there while we were renting.2. Hot water heater kept cutting out but was told to just check the power box and "reflip the switch". Seemed to work but I'm pretty sure it's not suppose to be like that. A plumber had to come and replace a part in the kitchen sink to get hot water power.The grill on the back area was in terrible condition. I think Moses used to grill on it. Bought a new grill and left it with the house. Get rid of the old one. (If you dare touch it)Had to take a trip to the emergency room for a fractured fingered. Trying to open up a window in the dining room. Undid the latch only to have the top portion drop like a guillotine on my finger. May want to put a sign up for people not to try and open any of the windows.House was well appointed. Furniture as well as appliances looked brand new. Beds were very comfortable. Noticed that all the empty boxes located in front of the house were from new bedding.Overall had a good stay. Had a few issues to deal with but we still enjoyed our time. Outside of the no English talking contractors, CJ office was good to deal with. (with the exception of the finger incident, of course)

I believe the new owners are doing a major renovation. We enjoyed both the open and covered decks which is where we spent most of our time enjoying views and ocean sounds. We want to return and hope it will still be within our means.(Our puppy agrees!)

Quiet, fun, relaxing

We visited to relax and did. The house was nice. Big bedroom downstairs. Going thru the side door to haul luggage is far easier than going up the wooden front steps. Beach is beautiful. One problem: I had left behind some large items that could not be missed. No one turned them in. Someone is enjoying the items I left behind. Wish people were more honest.

Another Amazing Stay W/ Coastal Joe

Reviewer Comments: First time we have stayed at Cape Refreshment, but we have stayed several times at Coastal Joe's properties and have yet to be disappointed. Cape Refreshment was amazing. When you are out on the deck you feel like you are right on the beach which you might as well be as close as you are. The deck is amazing, half covered and screened and the other half right out in the sun. The layout of the house was very nice. Each bedroom had a beautiful view of the ocean and the upstairs bedrooms have their own private balconies. The house was well stocked and very clean. This is the fourth Thanksgiving week in a row we have stayed on the Cape and each just gets better. We had a great day fishing w/ Man's Fat Boy Charters and every day we woke up to the most amazing views imaginable. At night you could not ask for a better sunset. As stated before we have stayed at Coastal Joe's properties several times, we had a great experience w/ them the first time we stayed in one of their properties and decided to just stay w/ Coastal Joe's exclusively. The "great" experience that swayed us was actually an issue we had with the property. The AC went out......I called the office immediately and they apologized for the inconvenience and said they would get someone out to take a look at it as soon as possible. Well i have heard that "as soon as possible" statement before so i wasn't expecting anyone until the next day at the earliest. To our surprise a truck pulled up in the driveway in less than 20 minutes. The gentleman was very courteous and went right to work. He had the AC working in maybe 30 minutes. He cleaned up, apologized again and left. The rest of my family didn't even know we had an issue because they had gone to the beach early. This is the only issue we ever had w/ a Coastal Joe property and their response is what made us loyal customers. Each time we stay w/ them they are always in contact to see if we need anything. I can't say enough about the staff.

I hope the new owners got a good deal because it needs alot of work. This home is on prime beachfront real estate with exceptional beach access and views. The home should not have been rented until the new owner made some obvious improvements. The first day, we had to wrap our brains around the property condition. The inside of the microwave is very rusty and the stove cooktop does not heat evenly. The screened porch needs to be painted and screens re-attached. No comfortable seating on the screened porch. Boards on the deck are questionable. The porch is the full length of the house, facing West. The sunsets are SPECTACULAR. A few days into the vacation, we were at peace with the home's condition thanks to the view. I hope the owners block the rental calendar soon and renovate. This home will be extraordinary after renovations. We are repeat renters with Coastal Joe and highly recommend them. Now, on to schedule the next trip with Coastal Joe.

Great location!

We enjoyed our stay at this property! It’s right on the water, and the sunset views are beautiful. We enjoyed the mornings on the deck drinking coffee and watching the water. My only suggestion, which did not keep me from giving this property 5 stars, would be to do a little landscaping/pressure washing. The stairs leading up to the front door have been overtaken by a tree that needs to be cut back and by some sort of berries from the tree that get stuck to your shoes. To avoid using the front stairs, you can use the side door under the car port. We would definitely stay at this property again!
