Enjoy the many amenities in this five bedroom home with three levels. Fantastic hikes await straight out the front door. A Perfect quiet location with walking distance to the lake and less than a half mile to Homewood Ski Resort.

Located on the west shore of Lake Tahoe in a pristine setting for hiking, biking, skiing, or boating. Close to many popular beaches including Meeks Bay, Sugar Pine State Park, Bliss State Park, Chambers Landing and many more. Bring your bike and cruise the paved trail into Tahoe City or to one of the local favorite sandwich shops.

Ten people (two families or a group of friends) will have lots of space to sleep here. On the main floor, you'll have the living room, dining room and kitchen. The upper floor features 2 primary suites with ensuite bathrooms and king size beds. The lowest floor features three more bedrooms with king beds, and a bunk room with a full over a full bed.

Location:
While the kids (and a few grown-up kids) have a snow day on the property's yard, perhaps others will want to venture out to the local ski spots like Northstar, and Palisades and Palisades Alpine. On a summer day, you will be only a few minutes from beautiful lake beaches.

Parking: Parking is available for 4 cars total. All cars must park on the driveway or in the garage. No street parking per county ordinance.
Prepare for mountain or winter weather driving in winter months. This may mean Four wheel drive with snow tires or chains. Check weather or road reports. AWD and 4WD necessary to get up the mountain roads and some driveways in the winter months.

Other things to Note:
* Renters must be 25+
* This is a non-smoking home.
* Pets are not allowed at this home.
* Maximum Occupancy per county ordinance is 10 adults.
* Use of the BBQ and outdoor furniture is not guaranteed in winter months, due to limited access.
* Like most homes/condos in Tahoe, this one does not have Air Conditioning. There will be fans available for your use!
* Your safety matters. This property may features exterior security cameras. The cameras are outward facing and do not look into interior spaces. The cameras will continuously record video and sound while guests are in residence.

We couldn't have picked a better cabin to stay in for my wife's 40th birthday. We enjoyed barbecuing, using the hot tub, and playing croquet in the back yard. We felt like the cabin was perfectly centralized for all our outdoor activities. Hiking, cycling, and boating etc... Thank you for making our first trip to Lake Tahoe a memorable one, we will be back!

Perfect home

I stayed with family in this beautiful home - excellent location. Spacious and perfect for gathering with friends and family. The property manager was extremely communicative and responsive. I will definitely be renting this home again!

Beautiful House, Great Location

The house was absolutely perfect and well maintained. We had 4 couples who stayed and each had our own room and bathroom. The house was spacious enough that we didn't feel like we were on top of each other. The inside was clean and outdoors was well groomed and maintained. Everything was easy to get to and overall we enjoyed our stay. Would highly recommend.

Thanksgiving Family gathering

Great place for families. Nice beds and plenty of bathrooms. Close to grocery stores. Snow park right down the street, grand kids love sledding and ice skating in Squaw valley. (I refuse to call it palisades). Town of Truckee a short beautiful drive away with a kid zone museum and for some California history, the Donner memorial. We had snow but no skiing yet…. Kitchen was a little smaller then we thought but no big. Would like to return in summer to enjoy the beautiful backyard. Champagne and grand kids, everything I look for in a thanksgiving getaway! Everyone had a great time.

Beautiful house for multiple families. Furnishings, indoor and outdoor space, kitchen, all beautiful. The internet access was completely non-functional for the entirety of our stay. This was not due to a provider outage but was specific to the property itself. We had four working adults who were relying on a stable internet connection to work remotely, which was one of the reasons we selected this home. In addition to impacting our ability to work, this issue rendered the numerous TVs—each reliant on internet streaming—unusable. Secondly, the dryer in the home was not working, a fact confirmed by the maintenance technician. With eight people staying at the property, including four children, this created a significant inconvenience. We had planned accordingly to do laundry during the stay and did not overpack, assuming the listed amenities would be available and functional. While we understand that occasional issues can arise, the combination of all these problems made our stay far less enjoyable and convenient than we had expected. The lack of resolution during the stay only added to our frustration. Heather from Tahoe Rental Company was great to try and resolve our issues. However, given the extent of the disruptions, we were given a less than satisfactory resolution on our cost.

Family Snow Trip 2025

We took our grown children and grandsons for a 5 night stay at Lazy Bear. The house was beautiful and perfect, plenty of room for everyone to have their own space . Great location to snow park and Boreal. However we did have a few issues that needed attention luckily my husband could make all the repairs . We had a difficult time coresponding with Bethany from Tahoe rentals. The hot water faucet was broken in the master suite, the air hockey table was broken and duct taped together. The hot tub had three jets floating around in it. We never received the towels for the hot tub which was fine . The shower in the other master suite wouldn’t drain.I would hope the rental company would walk through the house prior to guests checking in or when they arrive. There were a few other minor issues but my husband did fix everything so we had a wonderful stay. We loved being able to cook and bbq and all be together in this beautiful home . We did contact Bethany but took 3 days for her to reply. Also none of our issues were considered an emergency by their house book. I did contact them again after we were home but they was not any real resolution. If you stay and have any issues I suggest you contact Heather as she is most helpful and professional. All in all we did love this house very much and would recommend it to families to all be together and enjoy a vacation as we all did .

I have rented homes all over the world and own a vacation home. Lazy Bear Lodge had the most well equipped kitchen I have ever been to with everything needed to make any gourmet cook happy. The location is very quiet and you can see a glimpse of Lake Tahoe through the trees on the back deck. We love Homewood and recommend Sunnyside and Swiss Restaurant for dinner. Winter or summer Lazy Bear Lodge would make every family happy.
