Payne Lake Wilderness Huts - Lakeview Suite

It is located in our campground on 160 acres and there are walk path with play equipment along the way, bike path, frisbee golf, pickle ball court and half basketball court. It is located by famous fishing lake, Payne Lake and only 15 minutes away from Waterton international park that has lots of hiking trails and 15 minutes away from Waterton dam for water sports. Lots to do in all season including ice fishing, hunting, cross country ski etc.

It was a great little place. Helpful owners. The VRBO process was a little frustrating but the property was great. The only downside was I had to kill about 100 flys in the house.

We stayed with 6 people and we had enough room for everyone. We all really liked the place, especially the loft area and the playground. The place was very clean and had everything we needed. We really loved how the place was beautifully decorated, very simple but tasteful. I would highly recommend this place!! (In fact I’ve already recommended it to a friend!)

Great overnight stop

We were looking for a place to stay ahead of a visit to Waterton and area. Well equipped kitchen. Comfy beds. Tons of room and beautiful views of the lake. Great communication from Soonhui. Very responsive with a couple items that popped up. Kids loved the basketball court! Would definitely come again.

Location and Suite was fabulous, only criticism is the top windows leading onto balcony were covered with flies, at least 100 or more flies.Perhaps checking the suite before arrival of clients could address this issue.

Peaceful Getaway

Very quiet campground with gorgeous views of the lake and mountains in the distance. Our kids loved the playground area. Kitchen has basic supplies to do simple cooking. Cabin faces west towards lake. Thus, sun exposure can be super bright in evenings but you do get to see sunset over the mountains. Soonhui was wonderful to work with and we will definitely be coming back.

Wow, what a peaceful place to stay! Close to Waterton park but away from people. The sunsets off the west facing deck were amazing! Would definitely stay here again

Loved this well equipped upper lodge. Beautiful drive to slip into Waterton or stay to admire the beauty from the living area and front deck. Quiet and peaceful. Everything we needed to cook some meals and relax

Great Family Friendly Stay

We enjoyed staying at the Wilderness Huts. It was a great place to relax with the kids. The playground was perfect to entertain our kids ages 6-8. There were games and movies you could borrow in the club house and canoes to take out on the lake. Overall a wonderful experience with great views.

Amazing Clean Place with a Great View!

The house was super clean and had plenty of spare blankets! The views were amazing and the property manager was very helpful. Highly recommend!

Little slice of heaven.

Beautiful spot, the home is so cute and cozy. Seriously had THE BEST sleep. The facilities at the campground are very accessible and aesthetic!! The lake was the shortest walk, we enjoyed a swim. Will be back.

Too short a stay

If you are new to Waterton area..we went for long weekend and the stay was too short after we did touristy things we didn't get to try out properties at the campground. Friendly hosts. New and clean cabin. Great view. Bring extra hooks if you really do have 8 people to hang your stuff. Children loved the little loft

Beatiful priperty

The house is beatiful! The kitchen very complete. Has all you need to be confortable: stoves, pans, bread toaster, aluminium foil ( very helpful if you have to prepare sandwiches for long walking trails). A lot of plates, glases, pans, and all in perfect shape. Like brand news. The same thing with the towels. A lot of towels of all sizes, and news. It has extra blankets. The air conditioner works perfectly. The sigth and and the sunsets of the lake from the house are amazing! My family and I, loved this property!

Summer getaway

Beautiful property, easy distance from Waterton. Our host was very good and quick with communication. Beds and mattresses were clean and comfortable. The view from the windows and deck is amazing. Can see the sunset over the lake! We found the deck extremely hot at supper hour, as we stayed at +30 weather, but you can still see the view through large windows inside and the air conditioning much appreciated. The deck was perfect relaxing place in the morning and early evening. Just a short walk to the dock area at Payne lake, kids enjoyed swimming there. We enjoyed the basketball/ pickleball. Equipment and games available use in lounge downstairs is a nice touch. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need for cooking /dining, including Keruig and pods. I would just like the host to add some dish cloths, there was only a small scrub pad and tea towels. Just would like to have several clean dish cloths that are right size to clean dishes, counters, table etc. I would also like to see the kitchen cleaned a bit more throughly between guests, the counters and stove, lifting and cleaning under counter items. Other than that, it was excellent would highly recommend.
