Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children age 6 and 11) stayed in La Chevalerie for 5 nights in June 2013. We were met by Dominique at the door, and she was very helpful with explanations and suggestions. The cottage suited us well, and had most things we needed, such as washing machine, microwave, dishwasher, and all necessary utensils. In some ways the property is a bit quirky, but that added to the fun. The photos on the website represented it well. Blere is a good town as a base for exploring the region. It has a few restaurants, a good supermarket. The cottage was quiet, yet right in the middle of town. Our hosts (nect door) were accommodating, and even allowed us to use their computer when we had trouble with ours. Inside la Chevalerie is a steep staircase, which might not suit elderly people. Having 2 bathrooms was a real plus. Overall I would recommend staying there for a family like ours exploring chateau country. Also, Dominique speakes very good English.
