We were lucky enough to stay at Dave and Tracey's spacious villa in late August. Occupying a large, private plot, Villa La Passe has the feel of an upmarket and well provisioned home. Unlike some rentals where the owners clearly look to cut corners, it has a warm feel and everything you will need for a fabulous holiday. The outside kitchen and pizza oven are a real boon and the bathrooms (all four of them, three of which are ensuite) are highly speccd with honey coloured marble and have a spa-like feel. There are a number of terraces which seem to be sunny all day (35C when we visited!), meaning that our party of four adults and three children could happily relax, sunbathe or lark around to our hearts' content without ever feeling we were intruding on each other's space. It is a kilometer's walk into Claviers along a quiet, well it road. The village is very old and picturesque and is surrounded by wonderful views. It has two lovely restaurants, a pizzeria, a small bar, a boulangerie which makes amazing bread and a small convenience store. A number of similarly lovely towns are a short drive away, some with large supermarkets and, for the more adventurous, swimming lakes with a wide range of water sports. Plus, there are a number of lovely vineyards nearby who warmly welcome visitors. All in all, a great find! Gareth P, Cheltenham
