On the Calfkiller River! Comfortable, quiet home for 6 guests with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a beautiful view and access to the river. 10 minutes to downtown Sparta! Sparta is also well-known as an excellent kayaking and hiking area with several rivers and falls nearby. Other nearby attractions: Calfkiller Brewery, Northfield Vineyards, the Mennonite Communities of Fall Creek Falls and Muddy Pond. If you're looking for a fun get-away, close to downtown, than look no further!

A Fantastic Place to Stay.

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the River House……hosts communicated very well, the house was clean, well put together and had a great location. We will definitely stay again on our next trip to Sparta.

This is a very comfortable home and everything we needed was there. Communication with the host was great. We really enjoyed the out side cats who visited at least 2x day. It was nice to use the kayaks on the river. We would definitely stay again.

Quiet, clean and great accommodations

Stayed here with my wife and sister, very pleasant experience. The river was beautiful. Very close to Sparta and many state parks. Will definitely be coming back.

This house is so interesting and amazing! Well thought out design and space. It was very clean and the host was very communicative. We even enjoyed the daily fur baby visits. And thank you so much for the gift of delicious bread on the counter. We will certainly stay here again on our next family visit.

The owners were very kind and welcoming. It was so nice to have things like toilet paper that I didn’t have to replace with my own because it was so horrible lol, enough supplies like toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, etc to last for our time there. Homemade banana bread on the counter when we arrived was a lovely surprise. Ventured out on the kayaks which was nice but challenging to get in and out of.

Above and beyond

Our stay here was outstanding! Check in and check out was seamless, with prompt communication. We enjoy hiking and kayaking, and there is an abundance of that in this area! We enjoyed relaxing on the deck overlooking the river, it was very peaceful.

We had a wonderful stay at the River House. Beautiful property, all amenities provided, great location to explore Middle Tennessee. Sparta is small but has some great restaurants and is close to larger towns for more shopping/restaurants. Loved the daily visits from the dog, Merle, the cat and the chickens. This rental is one of the best we’ve stayed at. Highly recommend!

Great accommodations in a great hiking area

We chose this location and rental due to location and other great reviews. It is centrally located to many state parks but there is also the option to kayak right out the back door. Large windows overlook the river with beautiful sunrises. Great options for food and ice cream (our favorite treat) nearby.

Awesome location!! My hubby enjoyed every minute of fishing on the river conveniently situated in the backyard. Lovely deck to enjoy our morning coffee. The hosts thought of everything needed for their guests. One of the best Vrbos we have stayed in and we highly recommend it! The hosts very extremely nice and made us feel so welcome. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in TN

The house and property were wonderful! The hosts thought of everything, kitchen had everything you need or would want. There was fresh picked tomatoes and homemade bread to welcome us! The view of the river was so relaxing, and the use of the kayaks was so much fun! The only thing I would have wanted different was to get the check in information the night before. I highly recommend if your looking for a great place to stay and enjoy family time!

Wonderful Rural Getaway!

This was a great stay. Roomy, comfortable and a back deck that provides a "magazine article" setting. The perfect place for morning coffee. Worth every penny!

Dream stay for paddlers

We absolutely loved the place. It was very comfortable and the river was just so pleasant to paddle. It was within driving distance of so many state parks with amazing waterfalls, and the local pizzeria and coffee shop were excellent suggestions. Thanks for an hosting us on this wonderful little vacation, we really enjoyed it!

Great getaway

Everything was great! It was a good place to get away from all the hustle and bustle. Savannah kept us in the loop despite all the stormy weather and it was overall a great experience! The boys loved Merle the dog and the cat that came and said hello every day!

Our home sits right along side the Calfkiller River, which is a 42.4 mile-long stream in the east-central portion of Middle Tennessee in the United States. It is a tributary of the Caney Fork, and is part of the Cumberland, Ohio, and Mississippi watersheds.
The Calfkiller River is great for fishing and kayaking, and you'll have access directly to the river right outside in the backyard.
