Great updated Duplex. Quiet and friendly neighborhood, close to downtown. Minutes from Lake side park and all the fun that Fond du Lac has to offer.

Fun for Girl’s Weekend

Good space

This place is, as others stated, better than a hotel. It tries to do too much with its space so that the vibe is kind of all over. Clean and neat for my needs.

Nice try

You can't turn mud into gold. Very endeavord landlord but... Old House Dark furniture, small windows Weird neighborhood Not the best area to stay at However, we enjoyed our stay.

No one stayed

Outside was totally run down. Rail on front porch was missing on right Left side could be moved back and forth any where’s from 6to10 inches. Totally unsafe. Only one way out of the house. Side door was locked from the outside.

Not At all like the photos

The property was not at all like the photos. If we did not have 2 tired kids we would have left. The prior reviews note the smell which was bad. But the property is so rundown it felt dirty. There were huge cracks in the walls. You had to crawl over the bunk beds to get in them they were so close. The backyard had broken fences, a pile of branches, garbage it was very run down. The grill had old food on it. I am disappointed VRBO had this as a listing. You trust that they make sure the property is safe and in good condition. One of the bedroom photos is not even the house. The list goes on and on. Next time will get a hotel.

Updated home in great location

The owners updated an older home. The tv only has streaming not cable and only 1 bedroom has a tv. The parking is limited. The heat is locked and cannot be adjusted. We needed to ask the owner how to start the fireplace (it had to be plugged in but the short plug was behind the large fireplace). We also had to text the owner for the internet information because the book was incomplete/inaccurate. Someone was living in a small studio room within the house which was a little odd. Overall though we really enjoyed our stay. The kitchen is nice. The furniture was comfortable. The beds are very comfortable with extra blankets. The dining table is big enough for 6. The fireplace in the living room added a homey touch. The owner was very responsive. The location is great!

RUN - DON’T WALK - FAR AWAY FROM HERE

This was by far the worst short term rental property I have ever stayed in. The photos online do not match the property - 1 of the two bedrooms is completely different than shown. Additionally, it was FLITHY! I’m not sure what the cleaning fee we paid was for, considering there was dust and dirt all over the floors and baseboards. The bathroom sink and faucet were crusted with toothpaste and the drywall in the shower was literally crumbling. The kitchen items are not clean and actually, there is a sign instructing you to sanitize anything with bleach prior to using. And there wasn’t even a dish towel to use. And the soap provided was so watered down it didn’t lather. Not a single piece of linen matched - or was quality. The towels felt 25 years old and the hand towels had holes in them. Every single window had broken blinds which let in the very bright lights from the neighbors all night, not to mention the dead flies in the windowsill as well. There was an occupied studio apartment attached to the unit with walls so thin they might as well have been staying with us. The “sitting area” / backyard was full of junk and broken beer bottles. And that’s also apparently the parking spot? Finally - we paid extra to have a late check out but at the last minute we were told “too bad you have to be out at the usual time” and refunded. Then never heard from the host again. Absolute trash of a rental property and the hosts should be ashamed they collect money from people to stay here.

Not as advertised

The property managers were very polite and communicated very well. The kitchen was stocked with utensils & appliances. We really appreciated the gift from the hosts! The house however was not as described or shown in the pictures. Upon first entry we were overwhelmed with the smell of a scented plugin trying its best to mask the smell of mildew. The bedroom furniture was totally different than described and pictured. There are lots of holes, some of which were patched (poorly), mismatched paint, trim, & paint on the trim that was also on the walls. The fancy shower didn't work properly (only the main head was working). The side door was locked from the outside, leaving only the front door for coming & going. One bedroom had a queen bed (pictured), however the rooms were swapped. The other bedroom had two double bunks, with less than a foot between them. The upper bunks had approx. two feet of head space. The linens were very musty, there was hair in the sheets, & overall they were dirty. This may be because the renters are responsible for removing sheets from beds that were slept in & maybe this wasn’t done by the previous renters. This should be inspected by the cleaning crew. Unfortunately, the home is WAY overdue for some very basic maintenance & realistically it needs an overhaul. We will unlikely stay here again when we return to the area. Fond du Lac & Oshkosh were beautiful & the property served its purpose for our trip. We enjoyed walking around town.

The shower you mentioned works wonderful I’m sorry if you weren’t able to figure it out. I will have housekeeping turn down the glade plug in , but it’s not to mask anything. You mentioned a queen been but forgot to mention it was UPGRADED TO A KING MEMORY FOAM bed, the other room that has two bunk beds actually gives more room then the triple bed previously gave and finally yes guests remove the sheets but someone has to put them back on the bed that would be our cleaning company…… which also removes them and replaces with clean sheets in the event that someone forgot to remove them. I’m sorry that you didn’t like the house but we do strive to make everyone happy have a wonderful day
