Escape to the Delaware coast and enjoy your beach vacation in this spacious and exceptionally clean private coastal home located just minutes from Bethany Beach. Situated on private land rather than inside a crowded community, this property offers peace, privacy, and plenty of parking while still being close to the best beaches, restaurants, and shopping the Delaware and Maryland coast have to offer.

The home features four comfortable bedrooms and three full bathrooms, making it perfect for families and small groups. Two large master suites include private in suite bathrooms. The additional two bedrooms each feature two twin beds and share a full hallway bathroom, providing flexible sleeping arrangements for guests.

The home’s very large open concept living space is perfect for gathering together after a day at the beach. The kitchen, dining area, and living room flow together to create a bright and welcoming coastal atmosphere for relaxing, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

Outside, guests will enjoy a large yard with plenty of space for kids to play. A detached two car garage is available for storing bikes, beach gear, or motorcycles. The property provides ample parking for multiple vehicles and offers the kind of privacy rarely found in beach rentals.

This home is dog friendly so your four legged family members can join the fun. A maximum of two dogs under seventy five pounds each is permitted. Because the lawn includes irrigation and sod, guests must clean up after their pets each time. A lawn cleanup fee of $150 will be charged if dog waste is not cleaned up.

Location is another highlight of this property. The home is only a short drive to many coastal attractions.

Guests must be at least twenty five years of age to book and must remain at the property for the entire stay. The booked tenant must meet the landlord at check in with government issued ID for a brief property walk through. This helps ensure a smooth stay and allows guests to ask any questions upon arrival.

Great family get away.

We had a wonderful stay at this very clean and well supplied house. Great kitchen to make meals and a large dining area to feed a big group. Lots of yard for our 2 small pups. Short drive to Bethany Beach.

Cozy, quiet, close to the beach.

The house is as charming as it is inviting. It's small and easy to get around, while still having plenty of room between the three beds and three bathrooms. I especially like the big backyard, where we saw fireflies in the evening.

The house was nicely sized and open . Big island to hang out in kitchen and nice size den for games and late night hanging without waking the kids . Access to grill and patio for some outdoor dinners or lunch . Overall we enjoyed our stay and the house . Quick access to main strip with stores , restaurants and beach .

Wonderful place to stay!!!

The owner is absolutely amazing! She thinks of everything! The home is clean and comfortable. It has a great layout. It is not far from anything. And, we were able to bring our 2 little dogs! Highly recommend staying here! We are already thinking about it again for next year!

Loved Mabe’s Place!

Girls Weekend & 60th Birthday Celebration

Nine of us decided to have a girls weekend to celebrate my 60th Birthday. The accommodations were just as advertised, maybe better. Tomie was extremely responsive and patient, despite challenges with VRBO's e-commerce site. My birthday was the Saturday before Memorial Day and we wanted to distance ourselves from the Memorial Day beach crowds, and this property and its proximity to other beaches which were lovely and not crowded at all. Other resources, including grocery stores, pharmacies, and restaurants were no more than 8 mins. from our location.

Family means everything to us. We are blessed with two wonderful adult children, one daughter in love and three amazing grandchildren who we absolutely adore.

This home is very special to our family. “Mabe’s Place” was my grandmother Mabel Layton’s home for over fifty years. After she passed in 2019, my husband and I were given the opportunity to purchase the property and preserve the place she loved so much.

We completely renovated the home from top to bottom including new plumbing, electrical, insulation, and a full interior and exterior transformation. We named the property “Mabe’s Place” in her honor.

My grandmother, lovingly known as “Mabe Babe,” was a wonderful, godly woman who taught Sunday school for 55 years and lived to be 94 years young. Family meant everything to her, and we believe she would be proud that her home is now a place where other families can come together, relax, and create special memories.

Sometimes we like to think she still checks in on the house. A bright red cardinal often visits the front of the home, and many guests notice it during their stay. It feels like a sweet reminder that the home she loved is still filled with life, laughter, and family.

We are honored to share Mabe’s Place with others and hope it becomes a place where beautiful memories are made.

Our home was completely remodeled in 2021 and is maintained in new to excellent condition. We thoughtfully updated every part of the property to provide guests with a clean, comfortable, and relaxing stay.

The kitchen features new appliances along with most small kitchen appliances you may need during your visit. It is fully stocked with dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and cookware so you can easily prepare meals just like you would at home. A new washer and dryer are also available for guest use.

For convenience, all bedding, pillows, blankets and towels are provided for every bedroom and each bathroom. We do have a cleaning and laundry fee that is the same for everyone regardless how many days you stay.

Each bedroom includes a Smart TV and the family/rec room features a larger Smart TV for relaxing after a day at the beach.

The home also includes a brand new HVAC system along with 24 hour monitored smoke detectors and a security alarm system that covers both the house and the detached rear garage for added safety and peace of mind.

We have tried to think of everything you might need so you can enjoy the most comfortable stay possible. If we can help in any way during your visit, please feel free to reach out anytime.
