Cute place, well maintained

Bed were comfy, everything in kitchen we could need. Not too far in from main road. Parking for two vehicles. Lake is smaller, but that meant calm and warmer too! There are stairs down to the lake, one of our party was elderly and found it difficult but rest of us were all good. Overall attractive, very well set up. Clean. No surprises.

It was such a pleasure to host you at the cottage Kim while you attended a weekend family reunion a few lakes over. So happy you loved our upgraded beds and linens and enjoyed our fully stocked kitchen too! I understand that you and the other ladies were not at the cottage too much except for sleeping and so you may have noticed that we do have the 12 steps down, but there is also a gently sloping path that can be walked down to get to the water which completely avoids the 12 stairs (it is just behind the landscaped gardens and trees). If you had have reached out I could have helped you to know to have your elderly family member use that path instead. So sorry about that. Many of our past guests have also been seniors and the access is rarely an issue. Also, our driveway is very large and can easily accommodate four or more vehicles, which does come in handy during snowmobiling seasons where guests are able to bring and navigate their large trailers. It was an honour to be able to host you for your family holiday Kim. Thank-you so much for choosing our cottage for your stay!

Perfect Family Getaway

This beautiful cottage on a smaller lake was perfect for our family vacation. The host was generous and always available. We had no issues while we were there, all of our needs were anticipated. The water in the lake was ideal for paddling and swimming (no weeds). The cottage itself fit our family of four well with some room to spare. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you would need to cook dinner (or bake cookies). :) The Wifi worked very well for streaming and working remotely. I highly recommend! Just pack your swimsuit and groceries and head to this cottage for a relaxing getaway surrounded by mature evergreens on a peaceful lake.

Tucked away in a tranquil forest setting, this modern Haliburton cottage on Bitter Lake is perfect for couples and families seeking a quiet lakeside retreat. Enjoy paddling on the calm waters, exploring scenic trails, or unwinding in the luxury ensuite with a deep soaker tub. Located 5 minutes from Haliburton Forest (trails, tree-top canopy tours, restaurant, hiking/biking, snowmobiling, wolf howls and more), 5 minutes from Kennisis lake marina (boat rentals, pickleball, icecream, outdoor dining overlooking the lake) and a short drive to charming local shops, it’s the perfect escape for relaxation and adventure.

This property is very private and peaceful. It is very well treed with a long private driveway through the trees and an undeveloped forested lot beside it. This means that you can have that feeling of finally being away from it all and can have the privacy you long for so that you can simply exhale and relax into your peaceful cottage holiday. (This is so important, many other cottages are built right next to their neighbours and you don't have that visual privacy that we are so fortunate to enjoy at our Bitter Lake cottage)

We are in the most convenient location possible to have access to all the fun experiences nearby for enjoyment all year round. Only 5 minutes to the famous Haliburton Forest (Treetop Canopy tours, Wolves viewing and museum, Snow shoe trails and snowmobiling, hiking, mountain biking, restaurant, and more) or Kennisis lake Marina (Restaurant, souvenirs, supplies, boat rentals, and sometime even outdoor concerts!), and minutes to cross country skiing, Haliburton sculpture forest, Sir Sam's Ski Hill and Spa!
