Built in 1880, this two-story brick house was used for decades by a local radio station🎶. We completely gutted and renovated it from top to bottom.

Christmas time with family

We had a wonderful stay at the Washington House. The home was incredibly comfortable, thoughtfully appointed, and truly felt like a home away from home. It was clear the host has thought of everything—from the little details to the overall setup—which made our stay easy and relaxing. The location is fantastic. The house is centrally located and walkable to great breakfast and coffee spots, as well as the charming historic riverfront area. We loved being able to explore on foot. Most of all, the host was exceptional—responsive, welcoming, and genuinely caring about making sure we had a great experience. That level of hospitality really stood out. We make an annual trip from California to Missouri to visit family, and this was one of our best stays yet. We will absolutely be back on future trips and highly recommend this home to anyone visiting the area.

Our host Rachel had wonderful communication, explaining everything thoroughly, and offering assistance with suggestions of things to do, places to eat, and local shopping. She touched base several times during our visit to ask how things were going and check if we needed anything. She was amazing!

Perfection

This property is by far the nicest, short term rental I have ever stayed in. Rachel & Ryan clearly did an exceptional job with the reno & they thought of everything to make my stay perfection! Perfect house for a weekend in Washington. Location close to town with several coffee shops , restaurants, bars. Night time was noisy outside on the Main Street at stop sign I. Front of house loud screeching tires late at night but other then that great spot! Accommodations outstanding and hosts were fantastic from start to finish! Would definitely recommend this to everyone!

A “Must Stay” if Vacationing in Washington, MO!

Rachel has done a beautiful job transforming this historic house into an awesome, more than accommodating rental house. Plenty of room for 6 adults to unwind and visit after a long day out. We enjoyed the quiet backyard and fire pit while playing washers that came with the rental. It was a great place to spend time with family that was in from out of town, and we will definitely be booking again in the future!

Sisters Weekend

Wonderful weekend. House was comfy even with single digit temperatures outside. Very clean and well stocked. Enough room for the six of us to play games, cook and eat as well as spread out and make hand knitted blankets. Several fun things in house that allows you a peek into the personality of the owners. Thank you for sharing your house with us.

Absolutely Fantastic

The Washington Guest House was a very comfortable place to stay. The decor was so creative, fun and appropriate to the history of the home. The host has provided many thoughtful supplies for guests. The location was good. Our only complaint … too short a visit! Hope to return soon!

Beautiful & Comfortable Home

The Washington House is a welcoming, fun, and comfortable place to stay. It’s the former location of a local radio station, with the “On Air” light whimsically there. We like it because there’s a nice table to gather around for meals. It’s in a great location also, close to The Tilted Skillet, and an easy walk to the Washington Coffee Shop. It’s easy to walk to the shopping district, or on a paved walking loop that borders the river. Highly recommended!

Best Vacation Rental!

The experience of staying at the Washington Guest House was beyond expectations. We have traveled across the country staying in many VRBO and other vacation rental houses over the years. This one far surpasses any of the others we have stayed at; including ones costing four times as much! This is the ONLY house where the house rules say you don't have to: strip the beds, put towels on the floor, load and start the dishwasher and take out the trash. Their philosophy is: You're on vacation!! This is top notch service; above any other property owners. A must stay if you're in Washington, MO. Wonderful house!! Thanks for the amazing hospitality!!

Celebrating with family

Great property to stay if have multiple family members. Easy access to explore Washington and the wineries in the Augusta region. We specifically stayed for our 25th wedding anniversary. We were married at Montelle winery 25 years ago. Property was great!!! Did not appreciate the loud racing cars on 5th street until 1am Friday night. Owners may want to explore the issue with local law enforcement. Otherwise wonderful time.

They Thought of Everything

This house was darling. Rachel thought of every detail you may need as a guest. It was spotless and decorated beautifully. Everything was so well labeled and organized. It was truly a lovely place to relax and enjoy the area for a few days. So many thoughtful touches throughout the space. I hope to stay here again!

Wedding stay

This house is hosted by someone who has literally thought of everything! It was the perfect stay for us. We were in town for a wedding at the venue at wildflower ridge, which was just under 20 minutes away. We were very comfortable in this home away from home. Comfy beds and great space to spread out if needed. Would stay here again for sure!

Family Get Together

Had a great time at the Washington Guest House. The house was very clean and super cozy. Since we were traveling with 3 children under the age of 3, we really enjoyed having the outdoor backyard space to gather in after the kids went to bed. The house was close enough to walk down by the river for dinner and ice cream. Rachel was very responsive to my questions and recommended many great parks in the area.
