Hike or kayak on the famous Two-Hearted river. Parking for RV and 2 out buildings for snowmobile, ORV and boat parking. 9 miles from Pine Stump Junction. You won't want to miss the sinrises and the sunsets!

This property was very nice. It was tucked away and quiet, right on beautiful Lake Superior! The only sound was the wind and the waves! We all had side by sides with trailers(4 of them)and parking was a bit tight, but we made it work with the help of our host. We rode beautiful trails, and for our first time, we saw the northern lights! We can knock that off of our bucket list. We would have liked an additional bathroom, but we made it work! We had a beautiful bonfire on the beach and glad we did..It got chilly on the Superior lakeshore. The location was perfect! Thank you to our Host for the beautiful accommodations and for making our stay so enjoyable.

Relaxing getaway / great location

Our group had a great time at the Captain’s Cottage. The hosts are lovely people and the location is 5 stars. We really appreciated the water cooler& bottled water since the water is a bit irony which the hosts were very clear about stating. Our dog loved the beach & we did too! Lots of rock hunting, euchre playing, and relaxing! The mattresses are firm & a topper would be helpful for those needing a softer mattress. We’ll be back! Thanks for a great vacation.

Lovely home on the Big Lake

This house was perfect for our stay. Two adult couples sharing the home for a long weekend. Plenty of room and beds for everyone! Location was amazing and beautiful!

My husband and I spent 3 days with our son and his 3yo son having a great time rock collecting, resting, hiking and enjoying this beautiful property. The house was clean, well furnished and comfortable. Elyse was very quick responding to a question. We would love to return.

Snowmobiling

Beautiful area. Easy access to trails. Very secluded, right on Lake Superior. House is cozy, with fireplace. Loft has two queen beds and a set of bunk beds. One other bedroom with queen bed. House has that “cabin feeling”. They do have WiFi fairly good for such a secluded area. We had four adults and two children we were comfortable. Has wood floors I would suggest in the winter to wear slippers or heavy socks, after all you are in the UP!

Captain's Hideaway and Cottage are side-by side properties located on 6 acres of gorgeous, very private Lake Superior beach front. Only 8 homes total on the road. The North County Trail, which stretches from Vermont to North Dakota, runs through our beach front. 1.5 hrs from Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore. 20 mins to Grand Marais. Newberry Country Club has a beautiful 18 hole golf course. Tahquamenon falls is just 43 mi away. Take a day trip to Mackinac Island. We hope you enjoy your stay. Chris and Elyse Van Houzen
