Peaceful Cabin located in beautiful Des Moines River valley

Cabin sits on almost 2 acres right across from the Des Moines river , boat ramp just 1/4 mile away . Home has everything you could possibly need for a relaxing get away in the woods . Cabin is log and knotty pine inside . This cabin was built by my father in 2003 as his retirement home . We welcome well trained dogs , there is no fenced yard and lots of timber all around so we recommend keeping on leash as there are lots of deer crossing thru property daily . Boone is just a 10 min drive , Ogden 15 min . Don Williams recreation is also just 5 min drive . Come relax , rewind and just enjoy the peace and quiet of the country .

This is our third stay here, and it’s quickly become one of our favorite places to get away! We absolutely love the peace and quiet out in the country - you really feel like you’ve escaped the “real world” for a while. We love the location as a springboard to small-town Iowa and some of the best bike riding trails we’ve found.Heather is an awesome host, and we really appreciated the personal touches she added for our visit. We will definitely be back again!

Perfect getaway for a work retreat! Really, really comfy and clean. More than I expected! Only downfall was I didn't have cell service (Verizon) and that made me a little wary, being in the middle of nowhere. Internet was perfect. Overall, it was great!

It was a delight. The cabin is roomy and comfortable. It has the feel of a hunter's cabin, so there are stuffed trophies. Other than that it was perfect. Very quiet and private. I was entertained for hours watching the birds. And, we were only minutes away from a town. Finding a little treat in the freezer was a nice surprise. The host was able to accommodate an early arrival time.

Always a fun getaway

We LOVE this cabin! It is always so clean and stocked with coffee. :) And treats for your dog. Never could tell there’s been an animal in there it doesn’t smell like it. The property itself is so beautiful and right by the lake for fishing. We look forward to this every year! Thank you!

4th of July Get away

This was our 2nd stay at the cabin. It was wonderful once again. Our only complaint, which is not anything against the cabin, but we had gone here hoping to escape the fireworks with our English Goldens who have a hard time with the noise. Unfortunately there were a lot of fireworks, close by all three nights we stayed.

Wow! We were really impressed. I didn't look that closely at the reviews or listing before we booked. This blew away our expectations. Very clean, up to date cabin. The price was perfect to allow a weekend get away for the 2 of us (and old dog). We really enjoyed the place and will book again

I adored this stay, it was warm and cozy! I will book here again! Good distance from Des Moines without being too far. Boone is close and has some great places to dine. Everything is this cabin was as neat as a pin! It was cozy and had a GREAT bath tub! The bed was so comfortable and I felt very safe here alone!

A little peace and quiet

A wonderful and peaceful cabin. It was just the place my wife and i were looking for. It was away from everything. It was so great we did not want to leave. We hoped the storm that came through would anow us in. We plan to go again. Would highly recommend for those that want to get away from it all.
