We loved the house the second we walked in!! Just as described!! Plenty of room for everyone. Host Judi is very responsive and a great help as this was my first VRBO booking. House was very centrally located on the main strip and only about 2-3 blocks from the beach. Great place to stay!!

Loved the layout of the house! It fit our needs perfectly and loved the driveway being around it as opposed to one long one. It was perfect for short walks to the beach, Target, Wawa, and around the neighborhood to the sound. Thank you so much for letting us stay! Would highly recommend!

This is a great house for 2 families bc the bottom and top floors can function as separate units. Older house but clean and lovely. Good price for all it offered. .3 miles to the beach, but beach cruiser bikes there made it very easy to access beach and get around. Host was lovely and very responsive w any questions we had. Make sure u read the check out policy. The cleaning requirements seemed excessive, esp bc the house is older and wasn’t pristine to begin with. Host is very serious w this and even filed a damage claim that a glass blender needed to be replaced. Not sure why as I only made protein shakes in it. If you’re ok having to do a thorough clean before u leave and organize to get your own linens, you’ll enjoy the house, the location and the hosts help if needed.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay. We wanted to clairify for future guests some of your comments. The reason we filed a claim with the insurance for the blender you used is it was missing as my cleaning team could not find it so we had to replace by purchasing a new blender bottle for the next guests. Three tenths of a mile is 1,584 feet as you wrote the review it looks like 3 miles to the beach and I wanted to be sure people who read your review would understand as the period was hard to see on your response. We ask guests to wash their dishes in the diswasher and put them away, empty their food in the refrigerator and put the bedspreads back on the beds because our cleaning team has 3 hours to clean the house for the next guests. This is a family vacation home not the Hilton! Not sure what you meant by pristine as we feel and our rating indicates that the home is very clean. We were a bit taken back by your review.

It was a great place to stay, close to everything like the beach, bike riding, movie theater, and stores. The house was big enough for our entire family. For over 60 years the Kneas family has vacationed at the Outer Banks in Kill Devils Hills, NC. Elizabeth and Harvey Kneas purchased this vacation home in the 1960s just after the historic Ash Wednesday storm. The Kneas' brought the house as a vacation home while residing in Portsmouth, Virginia, about 1 1/2 hours north of the OBX. Originally, a two-bedroom flat roof cottage, the family has designed and remodeled the home into a perfect family gathering location. The Kneas family has spent many years at the 'cottage' hosting reunions, birthdays, anniversaries, and just summer fun beach time together. Sons Butch and Jim grew up spending lazy summer days at the beach and later working as lifeguards, bartenders, and other odd jobs through high school and their college years. Now the Kneas' grandchildren and great-grandchildren enjoy the cottage; this third generation is learning to body surf, build sandcastles, play putt-putt, and enjoy all the OBX has to offer.

Just updated large single-family home, only 1800 feet from 5th Street public beach access, a short walk. Perfect for wedding guests, family reunions and large groups. You may cross the highway with the pedestrian signal. Also a short walk to the sound. Newly renovated kitchen and bathrooms to include new flooring. Close to many restaurants and shopping, great bike paths and a short walk to the Sound.

Walking distance to both the beach, sound and shopping makes it the ideal OBX home for large family get togethers. Located at mile post 6 1/2 it is close to the Wright Brothers Memorial, several miles of bike paths, and Jockey's Ridge for hang gliding and kite flying. Minutes away from Oregon Inlet where you can drive on the beautiful beaches, fish from the shoreline or charter a deep sea fishing boat.
