What was once an open bay and brewing room has been converted into a stylish and modern guest suite to make for a comfortable home-away-from home. Whether you are visiting with a partner or a friend, on a work trip, or traveling solo, this cozy space has everything you’ll need to maximize your time in Baker City. Our Suburban Suite is a distinct upgrade from even the top tier hotel rooms available in the area.
Enjoy a personal parking space in the driveway, private access, and ample natural light from the glass garage door without sacrificing any privacy.
You’ll have two full beds, a full bathroom with a shower, and a kitchenette containing a refrigerator, oven, coffee maker, and other essentials. Take advantage of the adjustable rolling ladder to reach the upper storage shelves.
The Suburban Suite has a main living area with a wood stove for chilly winter nights. There is a 32-inch Roku TV, comfy seating, and small bar table that can be used as additional counter or desk space. The bedroom also has a fold-down desk and adjustable stool for dedicated workspace.
This space is walking distance from the Quail Ridge Golf Course and only a short, 3-minute drive from historic downtown Baker City.
You’ll have full access to the driveway space directly in front of the ADU, the right side yard, and the ADU space itself. The backyard is accessible only when there is no other guest staying in the main house, or upon private arrangement between guests. Such arrangements must be approved by myself as well, to assure all parties are content and comfortable.
I live close by, but work out of town every morning. I’m usually accessible via message, text, or call and have people who can possibly be available for other needs during the morning, and certainly in the case of emergent situations. If the appropriate opportunity arises, I’ll stop and introduce myself, but unless that is specifically requested I will likely leave you to enjoy your space yourself. I love meeting guests, but I also have a healthy respect for your privacy. I will do my best to keep you informed of any other work or presence that may cross your stay, but please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions or concerns.
The suite is located in a residential neighborhood across from the Quail Ridge golf course. The whole neighborhood and hill are wonderful for evening walks and morning runs, with gorgeous views of the whole Baker Valley. There is no real through traffic passing the house, and the neighborhood is populated with retirees and local professionals, including several members of Baker City law enforcement. In other words, very safe and very quiet!
Baker City in general (and the neighborhood specifically) is easily accessible by car, bike or foot depending on your interest and desired activity level. Traffic is light throughout town, and extremely low in the neighborhood.

KITCHEN LADDER
To reach the stored dishes and servingware in the kitchen, you will need to be able to climb the sliding ladder. Please note that in order to use it safely, you will need to lift slightly and pull out towards you so that the base of the ladder rests further into the room creating a much more comfortable angle for climbing. It lifts up and can be placed in its upright position for storage. Do not attempt to climb it while in the upright position!
No more than 1 vehicle allowed.
Please do not bring any camper trailers, RVs, or anything larger than a commercial vehicle into the neighborhood. Accommodations can be made with advance notice for snowmobile, jet ski, and ATV trailers.
Quiet time is expected from 10pm to 6am daily. You have the Suite, but share a wall with the main house and are located in a quiet, comfortable, largely retired neighborhood. The general idea is to never let me hear about you from any outside source. We love hosting guests, but we also love our neighbors!
No overnight guests and no parties on the property at any time.
No candles, open flame, fireworks, or fire pits. This extends to the street and sidewalk as well.
Check in is at 4pm and check out is at 11am. Early and late check in/out may be arranged based on availability if scheduled in advance. I like to have a general ETA from my guests to so we can be ready to support any arrival needs.
Please be respectful of our space and leave the property and furnishings in good condition.
