We were looking to get away from the Dallas summer heat and relax in a secluded mountain setting. We found everything we were looking for, and much more, in this property. If you're looking for a comfortable, unpretentious, casual vacation rental property, that feels like a place you might have built for yourself, then this is the place for you. When we first walked in, we went straight to the deck and took in the view, not to mention the sound of the water rushing down the river just a few hundred yards from the house. Our, almost daily routine, was hiking down Hunter Creek Trail, ( 2 minutes from the front door), through a well marked series of trails, all the way to downtown, where we would meet up for lunch with others in our party, then would drive the 7 or 8 minutes back to the house. Then either go fly fishing, white water rafting, golfing........or just driving up to the Maroon Bells, looking for Moose, Bear, Elk, Deer, Fox, etc. We actually had a fox that hung out around the house that we would run into from time to time, as well as deer in the yard and an occasional bald eagle soaring overhead. Even though the house was fairly close to other houses, we still felt very secluded with the dense foliage surrounding the house. The house was very comfortable for the 4 of us, my wife and I in one room, and our son and daughter, each with their own rooms with separate bathrooms. The kitchen is well equipped, however we tend to eat out a lot. If we decide to visit Aspen again, we would definitely like to stay here. The owner was very responsive and helpful. I would recommend to anyone.
