We received instructions to access our key from a lockbox attached to the door handle. When we opened the lockbox, there was no key inside. Since this was around 7 PM (on a Thursday), we could only call their after-hours answering service. We were promised a call back "soon". After some time had passed, we called back and either it rang endlessly without answer or it would hang up. On a whim, I pushed sideways on window and fortunately, it had been left unlocked. Even though we gained entry through the window, we never heard any response from the host or management about the situation. We even sent several messages through the VRBO portal. Had it not of been for the unlocked window, we would not have been able to access the unit, which would have created a tremendous hassle.Overall, the unit was surface clean, but there were plenty of dingy areas. The kitchen was just barely equipped enough for the most basic tasks. Bath towels were not very nice. Master BR sheets were stained. Furniture was cheap and uncomfortable. The living room TV remote worked to turn the TV on and adjust volume, but the other buttons didn't function. It is advertised as "premium, oceanside" but you can barely see the ocean (about 400 yards away) through the palm trees. We killed 2 very lively roaches.I get it, these units are hit hard and abused. But the host could easily spend a few dollars and make this a far better accommodation. For the money this cost, we were not impressed.
