What makes our home unique:
Casa de la Reina is owned by a veterinarian/zoologist couple and designed with a dream of creating a sanctuary where people and wildlife can coexist in a peaceful and harmonious environment.
La Reina has become known for the wonderful variety of animals that visit on a regular basis; it's a haven for exotic
butterflies, iguanas, monkeys, scarlet macaws, sloths, and more—it's a private sanctuary for animals and humans alike.
Outdoor thrills
- Infinity pool overlooking botanical gardens
- Frequent wildlife sightings right from the terrace
- Easy access to surfing, zip-lines & sport-fishing
- Sleep well in comfortable beds, each room equipped with blackout shades and cooled by quiet A/C.
Peace of mind
The Superhost team usually responds within an hour and can arrange airport transfers, tours, private chefs, and even special events like surprise birthday celebrations or wedding proposals!
Guest Access and Safety:
We host ages 12+
For the security of our home and neighbors, we do not offer self check-in and prefer to meet our guests in person, so the host or co-host will contact the guests before they arrive with check-in instructions.
We have room for one car in our gated parking area with 24-hour security cameras and bright motion-detector lights.
The road to our house is a narrow community road, gravelly and bumpy in places, but it does not require a 4-wheel drive, and the only steep section of the road is short and paved.
The hosts are responsive and attentive, and guests may reach out directly if they require assistance or if anything needs attention in the home.
All our guests are treated to free concierge service and encouraged to ask for recommendations about cool events and other things to see and do around our area.
You are welcomed guests in our home, but please treat our home with respect.
We take full picture inventory before and after each reservation and we don't want to have to charge you for missing items, so please don't remove anything from our home or property.
No unauthorized visitors are allowed in our home or on our property, and we reserve the right to request passport photo-ID of all adults staying in the home.
Sunscreen and oils leave stains that can't be removed.
Wash off sunscreen or oil before using towels, getting into bed or sitting on furniture.
Please don't use our bath towels to remove makeup, sunscreen or oils, wipe dirty feet, etc.
Please don't take our bath towels or other linen to the beach.
Costa Rica has fragile septic systems!
Only poop or pee goes in the toliet - don't put toilet paper, wipes or hygiene products in the toilets - even products that say "flushable." Put them in trash bin next to toilet.
(Paper products of any kind hurt our septic system!)
Don't pour grease down the sink, let it cool down, then put it in a bag or container and put it in the freezer for the cleaner to take away.
Please help us conserve energy.
- Keep sliding doors, front door and windoes closed when A/C is on so that cold air is not watsed.
- A/C should always be on ‘dry cool’ medium or high (not low or Eco) so that condensation doesn't develop on windows and walls.
- Turn off A/C, lights and coffee pot whenever you leave the house but please leave fans on for air circulation.
(There is no reason to leave A/C running when no one is home. Be kind, save energy (and us from a huge electric bill).
Be sure to TURN OFF outside lights and pool lights before you go to bed.
Sand gets into everything and hurts our pipes and septic system.
Please use the outdoor shower by the deck to wash off sunscreen, sun tanning lotion and sand before getting into pool or entering our home.
(Our pool, furniture, bedding, towels, mattresses, shower pipes, septic system and housekeeper thank you!)
Please do not bring glass into the pool area (plastic cups are in kitchen for pool-side use).
No smoking or vaping of any kind allowed anywhere on our property - do that outside the gates of our parking area (and please pick up any cigarette butts and properly dispose of them).
Help keep insects away: don't leave food or dirty dishes outside, wipe down counters and tables and sweep crumbs from kitchen floor after eating.
We want you to have a comfortable stay, so please let us know right away if you need anything or if something in the home needs attention.
We understand that accidents can happen, so let us know if anything gets broken or damaged during your stay so that we can replace it / repair it before the next visitors arrive.
Thank you so much for your kindness and care - we appreciate you!

Hi! I'm Teya King, and my husband Jay and I have been in love with Manuel Antonio since the first time we visited in '2006.
I was born and raised in Southern California, and Manuel Antonio reminded me so much of my childhood home of Laguna Beach that I knew I one day wanted to live here. Both my husband (who is a veterinarian) and I love the scenery, vibe and especially wildife of Manuel Antonio - in fact, my husband works with several wildlife sanctuaries throughout Costa Rica.
Since our first visit, we have made a great community of friends in Manuel Antonio, with the dream of one day building a place where we could host family and visitors in this beautiful area. Our dream finally came true when we finished contruction on Casa de la Reina and she welcomed her first visitors in Feb 2023!
We split our time between Saint Louis, Missouri, and Manuel Antonio, and will soon begin building our retirement home in Quepos.
When you arrive at La Reina feel free to reach out and say 'Hola.' If we're in town we'd be delighted to meet you - we always enjoy meeting new friends!

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由
La Reina was a labor of love and it took a small village of dedicated, hard-working folks to have her completely built and ready for visitors in less than six months!
When we first saw this little jungle lot, we knew it was perfect for us. So close to everything, yet in it's own little private jungle setting.
We get daily visits from monkeys, macaws and other brilliantly-colored birds, gorgeous butterflies, the occasional sloth, and even have our own resident iguana, "Stumpy," who enjoys snacking on the fruit that our visitors love to leave him.
Casa de la Reina is a lovely home with a peaceful energy. This is the perfect location if you're looking for adventures, and also the perfect place to forget your troubles, take a deep breath and relax.

この宿泊施設の特徴
While only a short walk to the main thoroughfare of Manuel Antonio that brings visitors from around the world to and from the world-famous National Park and Manuel Antonio main beach and attractions, our home sits on the end of a quiet street (you will NEVER hear traffic noise from the main road!), and protected from the distractions of civilization by our own beautiful jungle forest.
By foot, we are less than a 10-minute walk or a 3-minute drive to the main road and bus stops.
One bus goes to the beach, a 6 to 10-minute ride depending on traffic.
The other bus goes into the bustling town of Quepos (3 mins), where you can find shopping, Farmer's Market, Restaurants, bars, discos, souvenir shops, the main soccer field, main bus station and the world-famous marina.
Location-wise, we are close to everything, but 'hidden' away in our own little private, peaceful jungle when you want to get away from the noise and bustle.
During our guests stay, our team will be available to answer any questions about tours or sightseeing adventures, help with transportation to and from airport, and given excellent recommendations for restaurants, night life, local events, etc.
When the host is in town, she delights in taking guests around town and bringing them to unique and wonderful places in Manuel Antonio and Quepos and surrounds. Many guests have thoroughly enjoyed these private (FREE) 'Teya Tours' and she is loves sharing this beautiful area with them.
