I am displeased to say the least. There was a mite Infestation in the kitchen on the counters, walls, and cupboards. This was noticed the evening after check in after bringing groceries in from Publix. I did not notice initially because they were tiny black specs and it blended with the granite. The bags became covered in these and I immediately texted the maintenance number with videos and pictures. My husband called the after hour maintenance and the guy said he would try to come over but he was busy.
Day 2-He never showed up and the next morning, we called and texted again, someone came with home insect spray and said it wouldn’t work, but they would have to get approval from the owners to call the pest control company.
Day 3-Again, another day with not hearing back and continued mites, a few less because I was killing them constantly. We had to throw away so much food. We had to keep ALL FOOD in the refrigerator to keep the bugs out. Did I mention we had our 2 and a half year old grandson, 6 month old grandson, daughter in law and our teenage daughter with us. Horrible could not cook in the kitchen.
Day 4-called again, someone came back very nice, all of the maintenance people were very nice. He filled holes in the wood around cabinets and under the sink where he thought they might be coming in and put traps out. We have little ones with us so we had to keep them out of the kitchen. He said he would recommend pest control and hoped the owners would approve.
Day 5-pest control came. Much less mites on day 5, honestly tired of calling and they just showed up, an answered prayer.
Day 6-only one here and there.
I asked initially to be moved, then again on day 2, it was apparent that wasn’t happening. Asked for a credit was told by Casey and Kristen at Sandpiper they would look into it and talk to the owners. I asked daily, no one ever looked into it. Asked for a late check out when we left today, check out is at 10, they got back with me granting it at 9:37 and again in text and on the phone asked about the credit, they would not acknowledge my question, ignored it. I paid over $4,000 for a mite Infestation and we could not use our kitchen to cook meals. We had to eat out which cost a fortune for 2 meals a day, but it was plain gross to cook with bugs, tiny specs crawling around. We checked out at 12. The cleaning lady came over and said aren’t you glad I let you check out late, what is wrong with people. Rude!
