This will be the first season we will be renting this home. It’s too early for reviews, but our other property has many, if that helps… please bear with us as we share our most favorite home with all of you! Please remove shoes upon entering to maintain our lovely floors and rugs.
Please close windows and umbrella when day tripping , as we are prone to pop up showers on the coast, even on sunny days.
Please no flushing any unmentionables into our delicate septic system, as a visit from Mr. Plumber, as that’s a meeting we can all do without! 😉

We really enjoyed our stay at this quiet and immaculate house. Kazzie was a great host who had everything in the house we could have asked for. She even called when we arrived to make sure our questions were answered. I highly recommend staying in this house when you visit Acadia National Park!

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! The house was beautiful, cozy & set up with anything you can think of you may need. Kazzie was the most friendly & helpful host we have ever had. We arrived to homemade cookies & music. It felt like we were home. She let us know where there were good restaurants & attractions. Her attention to detail was very much appreciated! Would highly recommend!!!

Camp Hideous is a beautiful, clean, well stocked home. It is decorated to be welcoming and inviting. Communication with host was great! We couldn’t have found a better place to stay. We even had warm blueberry buckle delivered for breakfast by our host. Kazzie is the best!

This is a beautiful 1 bedroom home. Very clean. Everything was so well thought out. We cooked several times in the kitchen and everything was there. We sat outside with a fire one night with the fire pit, very peaceful. Fell asleep the first night to crickets and woke up to birdsong. Just a lovely place!!

This cabin was beautiful and well appointed! We loved the location. We went to all points we could fit in during our stay (Acadia National park , Quoddy state park, hiking around in schoodic, southwest harbor, prospect and winter harbor and also bar harbor). Most of all, Kazzie was the greatest! She helped guide us to some great spots (July 4th spots to go and where to get the freshest and best lobster). But most of all she truly pampers her guests. We enjoyed all the nice personal touches… homemade fudge, chocolates, wine and wonderful coffee selections! I felt like she really wanted us to enjoy our stay! Because of the location, the comfortable cabin, Kazzie’s friendliness and personal touches you can’t go wrong staying in the most beautiful location in Maine!

Camp Beauteous

This VRBO was fantastic! Very open floor plan that allowed us to reorganize halfway through our trip. We were able to visit friends in the area and then come back and do our laundry and relax. The property was extremely clean and had very good water. My husband has a PEG Tube, so issues like that are important to us. The kitchen was very nice and the host very helpful. Stay here, you’ll be glad you did.

Great place!

Kazzie is a terrific hostess and has made sure everything is how it should be down to the smallest detail. This is despite the name, a beautiful place to stay. Very convenient for exploring Acadia National Park and the Schoodic Peninsula. The check in/check out process couldn’t be easier. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

From the moment we walked through the doors of Camp Hideous we fell 8n love with this home.The home was sparkling clean, spacious, accommodating for all cooking/baking needs with so much more.Kazzie, the owner was more helpful than any host could possibly be with her outgoing personality and her prompness in answering all of our questions or concerns.We were visiting my ill Father-in-law in a few towns over. The home made it possible to be nearby for a visit with him and overseeing his health needs.We did take a few moments of "downtime' to do some sight seeing, grab some food from nearby restaurants and do some shopping.Not only is the house adorable and cozy, we were fortunate enough to get a warm happy visit from our next door golden retriever. She greeted us like she knew us and hasnt seen us in days. She really was an added bonus to our perfect stay. I highly reccomend you staying at Camp Hideous if you're ever planning to stay in the Acadia area. You will be pleasantly pleased at all this home has to offer you!We will absolutely be back in the future abd lo9k forward to our second time around!

Great trip

The property was like a home away from home. So cozy and so well stocked and so comfortable. It was in a great location to explore Schoodic Peninsula and not far to hop over to Bar Harbor. Kazzie gave us such great recommendations and we did them all. Thank you Kazzie for such a nice stay!

Outstanding Host!

Kazzie was the best host! Everything was wonderful, and we really appreciated the little touches like coffee, chocaltes, a bottle of wine.... she really goes the extra mile to make sure your stay is exceptional. I would highly recommend!!

Camp Hideous is Lovely

Host is very accommodating, pleasant, and provides quick responses to questions. The house is cozy and clean. What we first thought was a remote location turned out to be the best. Close to Schoodic Point which is a must see! Convenient to other points of interest, too, along with several locations to eat. Enjoyed our stay and will definitely reach out to Kazzie again if we head back to Maine. Thank you for your hospitality!

Convenient and comfortable.

Camp Hideous is conveniently located about 10 minutes from the Schoodic part of Acadia National Park. It is a very pleasant home with 1 bedroom and lots of sitting room and a nice deck. The kitchen is well equipped with everything one might need. There is even a washer and dryer. Karen was a very pleasant and thoughtful host.

Camp H is perfect

Camp Hideous is not hideous! It is the perfect house for a Maine vacation. Location-Close enough to Bar Harbor, Ellsworth and Acadia National Park but not so close to have to deal with the parking and crowds all the time. Very close to the quieter Schoodic Point with it’s rocky ocean outcrops, biking, hiking. Small coastal towns with lobster pounds, lobster co-ops, small groceries and pubs. We had many adventures including biking, hiking, lobster rolls and wine tasting all within a 15 minute drive of Camp H. The kitchen has all the dishes, pots, and appliances that you might need. Kazzie, the owner, has it stocked with paper towels, toilet paper, wraps, soaps, coffee, tea, spices, Pam etc. You do not need to haul or buy that kind of stuff. I liked cooking in this kitchen. Lots of dishes and flatware, paper goods. Appliances are new, granite counters. The mattress is very comfortable. Home is air-conditioned and there are ceiling fans. There are new pillows, plenty of towels and blankets etc. All are of good quality. Lots of windows which adds to the bright open feeling of the home. The water pressure is good and water is hot. Good size washer and dryer. Bathroom spotless. Everything is new. This is not furnished with grandma’s leftover furniture. Think Pottery Barn. The host, Kazzie, is communicative, and responsive to any questions. It’s the little extras and the positive welcome, ongoing text exchanges that made us so happy that we picked Camp H!
