Welcome to your Adirondack home base inside the historic Conklin Cottage, perfectly located in the heart of downtown Saranac Lake, just 15 minutes from Lake Placid.
This recently updated first-floor 2-bedroom, 1-bath retreat comfortably sleeps 7 and blends rustic Adirondack character with modern touches. Whether you’re skiing at Whiteface, hiking local peaks, or enjoying a summer paddle, this space is designed for comfort in every season.

As lifelong locals, we’re always happy to share insider tips — from favorite trails and swimming holes to the best spots for coffee or live music — to make your stay unforgettable.

Perfect getaway for iur Girls' Weekend! So much to do inthe area. We loved coming back to the house to just relax and hang out. The apartment was clean, and had a well appointed kitchen that met all our needs. I would definitely stay here again!

Overall I like my stay, especially considering its location. All nice restaurants are within walking distance, and it’s close to all fancy trails and lakes in ADK. Basically the best spot for staying imo.However, I do want to mention a few issues that I hope the host can improve in the future, especially its cleanness. 1. The inner shower curtain might need to be replaced, as there are a few moldy marks building up on it.2. The fridge needs some cleaning. 3. The toilet was not fully cleaned. There were residues in it when I arrived.4. The side door’s lock bolt cannot fully engage, especially when you lock the door from outside by pressing #. It raises the beep alarm that you need to manually mute every time.

Bruce was very attentive and accommodating. The location was amazing! The only time we got in our car was to visit Lake Placid. Thanks for a great weekend.

Older property with recent remodel. Had everything we needed. Close to shops, breweries and restaurants. Pricing was very reasonable versus the 400 a night hotel rental in town. Great rail trail biking nearby.

Very good but a few issues

The apartment is pretty much as listed. It would definitely not work for two couples as you would need to go through the bunk bed room to get to the bathroom. It was very well supplied, was super clean, was in a perfect location, and the owner was great to work with. It's across the street from the Hotel Saranac and only two blocks from the bike trail. Unfortunately, this makes it pretty noisy with trucks struggling up the hill. Our biggest problem was the queen bed. It was so lumpy on one side that one of us had to take a bunk bed.

Great location, close to downtown as well as a grocery store. Clean and comfortable accommodations. Would definitely stay here again. BBQ worked well and was nice to have access to.

We came to visit our son, which was only up the street from him! Location was awesome! We hiked on Baker Mountain, walked to Moody Lake, went for Coffee at Origin, and had breakfast at Blue Moon! Great stay! Definitely would come again!

Perfect Adirondack Apartment

This rental is perfect for anyone looking to stay in Saranac Lake. The location couldn’t be better, being within easy walking distance of all the local restaurants and shops. The rooms were immaculate and included all the comforts of home. The property manager was quick to respond to all our inquiries, making the process smooth and hassle-free. Hands down 5 stars.

Great Place, such a handy location. Loved having the library 2 doors down for the ADK Research Room. Lots of trails to hike, and the best part of this town, is the people. All were so friendly, helpful, and wonderful sense of humor all over the place. Come and visit to have this small hometown experience. VJC

Saranac Lake trip

Wasn't expecting "train style" (go through one bedroom to get to the next) bedrooms, but they were accurately described on the site and worked out fine. Family enjoyed our time together. Thank you for your hospitality.

Perfect Accommodations

The communication with property manager was the best I’ve ever experienced! He went out of his way to ensure that we had accommodations after our son’s college “move in” dates changed. The rental was immaculate and location perfect for what we needed. Saranac Lake has some great restaurants and everything was within walking distance. Will definitely be staying here again!

Short Visit

This property was very homey and had lots of little amenities that made it a little more special! It was walking distance to town for food and shopping. It was very clean!! Communication with the host was EXCELLENT - very prompt and helpful responses. The only thing you should know is that you have to go through 1 bedroom to get to the other, and the bathroom is in the first bedroom. It was fine for us with our son in the second room, but would be an awkward place for 2 couples. We loved our stay here and would come back again for sure! :)
