The kitchen supplies are outdated and some need replacement. The location and cleaningness was excellent. We had an amazing time and would return! Beautiful sunset for sure!

Property grounds are not repaired since hurricanes

This property was not what was on your site. Not one of the 5 pools was available. The villa inside was great, outside not good. Beach was beautiful

Relaxing Summer Get Away

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our first visit to Palm Island was 25 years ago and we have been coming back ever since! The villas and grounds are well kept and clean. Everyone who works on Palm Island are helpful and friendly and allowed me to have the vacation we wanted to have. We love the quiet atmosphere and access to the beautiful, uncrowded beach. My husband loves the fishing and I enjoy searching for sharks teeth. It is the perfect place to just get away and relax!!

Not such great value for money--check the resort fees

Although the setting for the Palm Island Resort is fabulous and the staff friendly and accomodating, this unit is a bit tired. The carpet could use an upgrade and the kitchen equip minimal. Plus, would be nice to have a well fitting mattress pad. Be sure to check the resort fees and handlings charges as these may add as much as $60+ to the daily rate.

Paradise Interrupted - Still Paradise

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We live 2 hours north in Safety Harbor so understand that the resort and all the amenities are still under reconstruction. Missed having a pool but was not a dealbreaker. If no water can be provided to wash your feet, a tub should be provided so you can fill it with water and at least clean the sand off your feet. Could also provide more dish towels, potholders and a broom and dust pan. We will definitely be back as we've been coming here for 35+ years!! Love Palm Island.

Good, but not the excellence expected for the price

Good things first--beautiful view from lanai, resort staff friendly and helpful, beautiful uncrowded beach with warm ocean water (February), nice pool and barbecues. Problems--whoever said the condo smelled "musty" was being charitable. The smell was overwhelming and required a couple days of airing out. Apparently the world loves hugely fat, fluffy pillows--we do not. The resort staff graciously brought us a few other pillows to choose from, but they were all fat enough to give us neck aches. The furniture was adequate but looked a little "tired". The kitchen was not well supplied. There was no remote for the DVD, so we couldn't enjoy disks we brought. The TV was cantankerous and difficult to use. While there were several lamps that could accommodate 3 way bulbs, none had them and nowhere was there really adequate reading light at night. All that said, we had a nice week. The two restaurants are fun and serve good food. Do plan to unwind and RELAX, because that's about all there is to do.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: If you are looking for some quiet time with the family this is the perfect spot. No stress, no crowds just pure relaxation. I've been searching for a place like this for 17 years and I finally found it. The villas are wonderful and clean. You must get a golf cart to drive around the resort, and everyone you see always says hello you don't find that anywhere else on the planet. The staff is wonderful, so helpful.I knew it was going to be a great stay when I received a phone call a week in advance of our arrival. They were letting me know that they were waiting for our arrival and if I there was anything else they could help with.If I had to change one thing, just one little thing it would be to keep the restaurant open later. It closes at 9PM every night. You stay at the beach till 6 or 7 you have to rush to get to the restaurant. Other than that 1 little thing, it really is the perfect vacation spot. I can sum it up like this, if you are looking for a vacation at the beach with lots of people and activities, waiters bringing you cold rum punch and elegant dining, this is not the place. But if you are looking for a relaxing spot to spend with family and friends, no crowds or long lines, the ability to share an entire beach with may 3 others this is the perfect spot.

Couple's Retreat

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A comfortable, clean, spacious, and affordable rental that's at a great location with a nice view. Right by the restaurant and Coconut's, the breakfast/ice cream shop. You get a ferry pass included as well, one trip for each night you stay, make sure to tell the ferry worker youre checking into the resort so you dont have to pay. Highly recommend as there's grocery stores, lots of good restaurants, and other fun places to go within 30 minutes of the ferry landing.The A/C is fantastic, works well and it works fast, even during temps in the mid to high 90s. I saw reviews talking about the bed and can confirm they got a new mattress and it was great, we slept like rocks. The screened balcony was nice and spacious, and the view was beautiful, we spent a lot of time out there. The living room was also excellent, the chairs and couch were especially comfortable, the 1st time I came here with my dad the couch made for a great bed. The TV in the bedroom is a roku TV, but the living room TV has cable which was nice for sports.The kitchen appliances are all nice and simple to use. The kitchen faucet is a tad short but it does have a detachable handle. The bathroom was nice and the shower has a detachable handle with excellent water pressure. There's enough toiletries/kitchen/laundry supplies to last you for a few days visit.There was some wear & tear and age as other reviewers mentioned, but nothing that lessens the experience or is very noticeable, especially with this being the best rate for a room on the resort. This was my 2nd time staying at this rental, and it certainly won't be the last. It's a fantastic room, and that screened balcony really was something else, I can't wait to return.

It has the best beach and amenities. The only downfall is that things are really quiet really early. I'm no party animal but would enjoy using the pool or hot tub past dusk. Great for a group. This was our 2nd trip to the island, this rental had less as far as games, cards, etc. That might be nice to know so you can plan what to bring for entertainment.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very nice stay. We were unusual because we were dropped off by boat and picked up by car. The office made the arrangement for the ferry. The only negative which could not be controlled was the red tide which had everyone coughing and left dead fish on the beach. This was happening all down the west coast not just Palm Is. Just nature.
