Welcome to Animal Kottage! We are located in a secluded area in Hayward, WI on 3.5 pet-friendly acres and only 3 miles from enjoying the downtown atmosphere of this amazing city.
Enjoy your morning coffee on warm summer mornings and take in the evening sunsets while grilling on the back porch. Plenty of room in the manicured yard for outdoor games experience or just enjoying some drinks around the firepit while the kids and dogs play.
Located close to several lakes, shopping, lots of great restaurants as well as ATV and Snowmobile trails.
Watch as deer wander through the property on their way to the Namekagon river just a short walk away or as birds, bunnies, and other wildlife enjoy the quiet and remote location.

Perfect for what we needed

We came to the area to ride sxs and this house was perfect. It was clean, had all the necessities, and great location. We would for sure book this same place again if we come back to the area.

Wonderful stay at the Animal Kottage

We had a great time staying at this property. The owners thought of everything you need for an enjoyable stay both for the humans and our 4 legged family member. We will definitely be back!

Weekend away

This was the perfect place for our weekend in Hayward. Private, yet close enough to town for the wedding we had. Jordan was very responsive and helpful during our check in process. Definitely recommend.

Great Stay

We loved our stay in Sawyer County. The house was in a private setting - just outside of Hayward. Very clean and comfortable. We came up to go riding our ATVs. It worked out great to ride from the house every day.

Sparkling clean, great location

We loved the privacy and quietness of the property. The yard was great for letting the dogs play and having fires or sitting on deck. Yet it was only a short, easy drive from Hayward. The house itself was very clean, well stocked and we had plenty of room. We enjoyed the complimentary coffee bar.

Perfect Location

This was the perfect location and size of property for our visit to the Hayward area. It was so quiet and peaceful and centrally located to everything we needed to get to. Highly recommend this location.

Comfortable place; excellent hosts

We stayed here for a bit of an extended stay this winter. We found this home to be very clean and well-equipped and just as pictured & described. Just a few minutes out of town but feels secluded. Hosts were wonderful to work with. Will be staying here again in a few months.

Peaceful, quiet, secluded

The property was very private. Beautiful wooded area. Close to town, yet secluded. Home was nice and clean and inviting. Made several bonfires. We enjoyed our time there

Animal Kottage Vacation July 2023

Great place to stay! Very Clean, very cozy, great coffee bar area. Great area for dogs to run and relax along with us humans. Close to downtown Hayward. The owners are the best easy to reach if you need assistance or to answer questions. Hope to go back in 2024!

Great getaway

This place was awesome! Very private, but also close to town. Had excellent communication with the owner. He went way beyond. making our stay relaxing and enjoyably. Loved the coffee bar and the welcoming basket. Definitely recommend and would definitely go back

Quiet get away near Hayward WI.

We stayed 5 nights while moving across country. The house was comfortable, dog-friendly, in a secluded wooded area but still easy access to town and highway. Hosts resolved a hornet nest problem quickly, and were friendly & responsive throughout our stay. A nice stay in an area that has few vrbo's with enough beds for our family.

Nature Retreat

My family and I were impressed with the property of this house. It was close enough to Hayward, but far enough away to feel like we were in the middle of a forest. We all wanted to take the house with us when we went back home. It had the perfect layout, more than enough beds, and 2 bathrooms! And we so appreciated the S'mores welcome basket, yum! We will be staying here again in the future!!

Beautiful house great kitchen great bedroom and bathroom setup. Wish the trails were a little bit clearer for walking - didn't want to get on someone else's property but I'm sure of property lines. I will definitely stay here again. Owners communicated by email and directions for the locks were clear

Nice location, very comfortable accommodations

We stayed here with another couple for 3 nights to do some UTV trail riding. We really enjoyed the backyard firepit in the evening after riding. We found the beds to be very comfortable, and loved that there were two bathrooms, each with a shower. The kitchen had everything we need to cook our breakfasts each morning. The home was pleasantly decorated, had comfortable furniture to lounge indoors and was very clean. We appreciated that Jordan came by before we left on our last day to meet us and ask about our stay. We had a wonderful time!

We are locals of the Hayward area and have always enjoyed the quiet and freedom that the area provides with its many trails for ATVs, snowmobiles, horses, skiing, or hiking. The wildlife is truly amazing, and we see a multitude of it every day, including bear, deer, turkeys, birds, hummingbirds, etc. As dog owners, we love the ability of having plenty of space to allow them to run and play in our yard or take them on hiking trails with us. We want to provide that same opportunity to our guests which is why we are pet-friendly hosts.

The house is not located in what we would call a neighborhood. It is on a corner lot with a single "neighbor" about 750 feet away. It is a peaceful and relaxing location that provides guests the opportunity to really enjoy all that the Northwoods has to offer.
