Enjoy walks on the lakefront, sunsets, eateries, pubs, kids park with splash pad, 31 mile bike path and more all within walking distance of our cottage. Our pet friendly home is next to the woods of Little Bayou Castine. Enjoy a private woodsy feel in the heart of Old Mandeville. Under house pool table and grill . Fenced area. Two bikes. 3 bedrooms (4 beds) ,open floor plan. Perfect place to relax in the heart of Mandeville.
The space
Fenced in dog run, plenty of porch space and under house outdoor living. Pool table , Fire Pit, bikes, Dart board, grill. High end appliances, washer and dryer ,Baby High chair, Pac and Play, High speed WiFi ,TVs in every room.Massage chair. Plenty of our guests have said they like to stay in Old Mandeville for the safe historic atmosphere and love the quiet woodsy private location of the cottage and New Orleans is 30 mins. away across the lake.
Guest access
You get the whole Cottage! Key pad entry. Bikes and a Pool Table. There’s a public boat launch across the street. Plenty of extra free parking on Jackson Ave for large moving vans and trailers. Feed the sea gulls. You can explore the lake and bayous with Kayak tours. Google it.
Other things to note
Relax and enjoy the lake, neighborhood shops and restaurants. Remember, New Orleans is about 30min. car drive. Fontainebleau State Park is five minutes away. Local amazing restaurants that require reservations are -Gallagher’s 527 ( maybe the best steaks in New Orleans )

We had a very nice staycation at this property. It's a short block to the lake, where my granddaughter enjoyed the playground and the splash park. Sunrise and sunset walks on the lake with my dog was a joy. It's close to everything, including the bike path, which we took to get to Fontainebleau State Park .

Great stay at Michael’s place. Excellent location, clean and well appointed with everything we needed. Michael even stopped by to make sure all was well. Highly recommend Rips on the lake for a night out as well as the cute historical downtown area of Mandeville.

We couldn’t have hoped for more from our stay. In the run-up to our booking, and throughout our stay, Michael was very responsive and helpful. The cottage is perfect. Very spacious and clean with every convenience you could want. It really is a home away from home. Such a quiet little spot but close to the joys of Old Mandeville. My husband and I were able to both work remotely using the WiFi without any issue. We look forward to returning!

Perfect for our family

We had a great time staying at the Lake Cottage. It is our second stay, and we will definitely be back. The property has all the amenities our family needs, and it is in a great location. Michael is an excellent host, and we hope to return!

Awesome Stay!

The property was exactly how it was listed. We brought 3 dogs with us and there was plenty of space for them plus our 4 adults and 1 teen. The owner was very helpful and communicative! Check in and check out was super easy! Wish we would have stayed for longer to explore the area more. We have already talked about coming back for a visit! We came for a wedding in the area and everything was super close to the property! Thank you again for allowing us to stay!

Perfect

Exactly as advertised. Property owner shared all needed info quickly and efficiently. No other contact required. Property was beautiful and exactly what we were hoping for. Check in and out process was quick with easy instructions to set up the cleaning crew to have the property ready for the owners to return to and enjoy or to allow the next guests to have the same experience we did. Excellent in every way. In case it helps anyone, we were 4 adults (family and long-time friends) and one 5 yr old child.

The property is described as sleeping 8 with beds for 6. The additional 2 people sleep on a very large sectional, not a fold out, that would be challenging for a full grown adult. The bed linens and towels were of top quality and the massaging chair was occupied almost continuously while we were in the unit. Some fell asleep in it. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed and coffee filters were provided. The freezer ice maker pumped out ice at an impressive rate allowing us to fill an ice chest for the trip home.The air conditioner thermostat was set at a comfortable temperature and can be adjusted to accommodate the guests.The bathrooms were spotless, with no mold or mildew, a real plus in south Louisiana.A real plus is the location of the house as it is an easy walk to the lakefront. The neighborhood is very walkable and bike able. Restaurants, coffee and Ice cream shops are easily accessible by car.

My family has loved this home for our weekend getaway! This home is so comfortable and inviting, from walking in, it feels like a home and not just a normal vrbo. it is very close to the water and the state park. There are so many things to do around here. We would reccomend this place to anyone.

We are Mike and Carol. We have this lovely family lake house in the heart of Old Mandeville that we decided to short term rent. It’s very clean , comfortable and only a block from the lake. We live around the block so are available if something needs addressing. Come visit and enjoy our place!

Our lake house is one block from the lake. Enjoy sunset walks, restaurants, shops and pubs all within walking distance. We have under the house pool table, dart board, refrigerator, table and bikes for use. Fire pit too!

Our place is near everything! Perfect for attending weddings, visiting families, etc. 3 bedroom 4 beds and large sectional couch that could sleep 2.
