This 2022 build on the end of Cape San Blas is truly “Off the Hook”! Prepare to be emersed in soft tones, natural textures and a stately southern vibe. This glistening gulf front stunner was professionally decorated and thoughtfully appointed. Walking through this home summons not-so-subtle exclamations like, “We’re in high cotton now!” All bedrooms are en-suites and truly every detail has been attended to. With four king suites and a huge and magical bunkroom suite, this home sleeps twenty!

Cape San Blas is a place where families come to relax, friends unite, and memories are made. This fifteen mile west-facing peninsula in the panhandle of Florida offers amazing white sand beaches, emerald gulf waters and the highest dunes on the gulf coast. The home sets only a couple of miles from TH Stone Memorial State Park and a plethora of untouched tropical nature. The town of Port St Joe is a twenty-minute drive where you will find plenty of restaurants, shopping and a full-service marina.

Beautiful, relaxed family spring break

The house size, location and set up was perfect for 2 families with kids of all ages. House is new, super clean and well stocked with dishes to allow for cooking meals in for a large group while enjoying the gorgeous sunsets. Location is perfect for coming to and from the beach and house came with a good number of chairs and boogie boards. Pool is small but it was well heated, which made it perfect for a few cool days and big enough to keep kids entertained all week while not at the beach. Highly recommend this house!!

Small pool but kids loved it.

Clean Newly Remodeled House

Nice new very clean home. The pool was a nice feature. The host was very easy to work communicate with and there were no hiccups. The only very slight drawback to this house is its located near the public beach access so expect a few more folks on the beach than usual...which is generally not that many on Cap Sand Blas.

The private pool and boardwalk extend the beach to your doorstep at Off the Hook. On the occasion the beach attracts a few people, just mosey back up to the pool, patio and deck space!

Amazing Beachfront Home

Truly fantastic Cape San Blas beachfront home. Fabulous master suite with private beachfront balcony. Another lovely beachfront master suite! Two more king rooms and a huge kid’s room. ALL with private bathrooms. Kitchen was superior and extremely well appointed. Heated pool was awesome. Beach was perfect. Attentive rental agency. I do wish the elevator had worked. I will definitely rent this home again.

Good beach week

Very nice home. Elevator invaluable for my elderly parents but several inaccuracies in Vrbo listing. There was no ground floor bath, no shared deck for 3rd floor king rooms, no closet in one king or bunk room, grill was rusted out and not working. Pool had no seating and was more of a plunge pool with no space for chairs. Loved private boardwalk and location was great. Beautiful sunsets.

Kristen, thanks for the feedback... The ground floor bathroom is actually just the outdoor shower. The VRBO software specifies this entry, but we understand why you were confused so, we left it in the description and unchecked the box in VRBO. That said, the home will have a ground floor half bath in the next two weeks so we will update the listing again and include pictures! The 3rd floor king suites do, in fact, have a shared balcony. The fourth floor does not. We checked the grill and it is like new, working fine, but does occasionally have a little rust on it (the salt air is rough on everything at the beach!) The pool is small, but the kids love it. Gulf front construction is a series of tradeoffs. The size and features of this home are amazing and the builder still managed to include a pool. So glad you enjoyed the elevator, boardwalk and sunsets!

EMERGENCY AT THE BEACH

Went food shopping, unpacked, set up the bar and put up the food. All is well...or so we thought. At 1:30AM the house carbon dioxide alarm went off. Firemen invaded the house. The opened every window possible and told us to leave the house 1st thing next morning!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! Contacted the rental agency who arranged for another house down the beach...bigger house but very poor access to the beach. So...we all pack up our stuff...food, luggage, beach stuff and drive away. END OF STORY...WOULDN'T YOU THINK THE RENTERS/RENTAL AGENCY WOULD OFFER AT LEAST A TOKEN DISCOUNT FOR OUR HUGE INCONVENIENCE??? REALLY? NOT A WORD ABOUT IT???

It's unfortunate you could not stay in the home. Obviously, your safety was our first concern. After talking through the situation with you, we were of the understanding you were delighted with the upgrade! The home you stayed in would have rented for double the price and the owners generously shared it with you for the same price. Frankly, it was a happenstance stroke of luck that we even had a home available as the only other alternative would have been to send you home. All that said, this home has been completely repaired and the CO issue is resolved. It is beautiful and we work our tails off to make sure it stays that way. Sorry for your misunderstanding, but we certainly could have avoided this with a simple phone call. We always answer the phone!!!

Where Do I Begin?

On day 3 of our vacation, the refrigerator stopped working. We called Brian with Be Our Guest immediately. 24 hours later a repairman came to look at it. 48 hours later we had a new fridge. This was very inconvenient for our party but that wasn't the worst part. We completed our vacation with only slight frustration and checked out, leaving the home without any damage from our family. That's when the fun began! I received a text from Brian with pictures of a broken window and floor damage on the main stairwell asking what happened. I checked with our party and found that the window was broken from the outside before our arrival and the delivery men damaged the floor bringing the fridge up the stairs with a dollie.I then received an email from Donna, the office manager at Be Our Guest, informing me that the duvet was missing from the master and one pillow sham from another bedroom. I told her that no one in our party had taken either item. I then received another email suggesting that we check our luggage and return those items. I have never been so insulted! I am 65 years old and have rented other homes as nice as this one for years, both on Cape San Blas and other vacation areas. I have NEVER been harassed by a rental company before. I would not hesitate to rent this property again IF it were managed by another company.

Patty, I'm very sad to see that you decided to take this approach. Just seems spiteful given our discussion post departure. As explained, we were simply asking if you could explain the damages and missing items so we could file damage claims and repair/replace those items. You chose to take offense, it seems even after we humbly explained that your insurance would cover the damages. We just needed your participation to process the claims. As far as the refrigerator was concerned we replaced that appliance the day after you notified us with a new one. We also very generously compensated you for all your food and inconvenience. The really unfortunate thing is, we thought you guys were great and looked forward to having you back one day! It's too bad you could not work through the misunderstanding on your part. BTW - if you find that missing comforter, we'd love to have it back! Fortunately, our other reviews paint a much different picture!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Let me begin with Pros: Donna Dickerson with Be Our Guest Rentals was very helpful from start to finish. The house itself was great. Plenty of room for our family of 12. The bedrooms were comfortable and the porches were great. Now to the cons: let’s begin with the location of the house. It’s not a nice road especially for bikes. I had read in other reviews that the pool was small, but it was tiny! Also, it did not get cleaned until about the 3rd day we were there. The private access to the beach was at least a 2 foot drop into the water. I am older and had to go to the public walkway. There is a new build going up next door, but we were lucky and just the foundation was being laid. Trucks did block our driveway, but the workers were nice. What surprised me most was the condition of the beach. All up and down that area was broken tile, glass, rusted fan, pipes washed up . People were stepping on rusted plumbing items in the water. The beach for the week we were there was not once cleaned. First time I had ever seen Cape San Blas so run down.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Off the Hook was the perfect house for our large family vacation. The house was clean on arrival and even had fresh flowers (what a nice touch). The house is just like it looks in pictures. The kids loved the bunk room and the pool. The beach walk made it easy to access the beach without walking on the dunes. Saw dauphins everyday with the great balcony views. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was well stocked. In storage there was extra beach chairs and boogie boards. You can't go wrong renting this house. Can't wait to come back!
