My wife and I and our adult son decided to be snow-birds for a five-week working vacation from the frozen north during December and January 2020-21. Despite the pandemic, we had a wonderful stay. We found the condo through VRBO and it turned out to be exactly what we had hoped for: it was clean, spacious, comfortable, with good wi-fi so we could work remotely. Diego was a friendly and helpful host the whole time we were there, attentive to any question we had via text or call. The condo offered everything we needed, nicely furnished, with a well-equipped kitchen, washer-dryer, and cable-TV. It was home-away-from-home and we didn’t want for anything. Hanging out and dining on the lanai was a favorite feature, enjoying the nice view, the peace and quiet, and the nice temperatures. The beach was right across the street. There were decent restaurants close by, with several take out (and dine-in) options within walking distance. One of our favorite activities was taking relaxing walks and bike rides, with visits to the Matanzas Pass Preserve, Lovers Key State Park, Manatee Park, Big Cypress Slough, Four Mile Ecological Preserve in Cape Coral, Naples Botanical Garden, Sanibel, and Captiva. Two day trips a little further afield but very worthwhile were driving to the Gulf Coast Visitor Center in Everglades City for a boat tour, and taking the Key West ferry from the terminal in Fort Meyers to spend a day walking around Key West. In Fort Myers Beach the traffic could be heavy, with tail-backs especially at the north of the island, but if you plan ahead and choose your time of day, you can avoid the long delays. Sometimes it was worth driving off the island to find a larger supermarket with a bigger selection and lower prices. All in all, we highly recommend this rental property
