Welcome to Hidden Grove, a "Beyond the Path" vacation retreat where your experience comes first. This serene, luxury escape sits on 2 private wooded acres just 10 minutes south of Bloomington, IL—soak in the hot tub under the stars, sway in the hammock with a good book, toast s’mores by the fire, then head out for nearby hiking, outdoor adventures, and charming local restaurants and entertainment for a truly rejuvenating getaway

Beyond the Path is a small, owner‑run collection of thoughtfully designed vacation rentals where every stay is personal, not just another rental. We focus on memorable details, quick communication, and genuinely warm hospitality so you can relax, feel at home, and know someone local truly cares about your stay.

This A-Frame style home offers three seating areas, a fully stocked kitchen with full size appliances including a dishwasher, two sleeping areas upstairs one being a loft area with queen size bed that is open to the level below plus a private bedroom featuring a queen bed, twin bed and a fun lofted play area we call "the cozy cave" perfectly sized for little adventurers. The cozy cave is a great place for the kids to enjoy while the adults get some quiet time. One full bath located on the main level plus a queen sleeper sofa. This sleeper isn't your grandmas sleeper sofa, you will get a sound nights sleep on this updated version with no metal brackets and an easy flip out design. Outside there is a deck with a dining table that seats four, lounge seating for 8 with a light and enjoy propane fire-table, and a large traditional fire pit for a more woodsy experience.

The entire home and property is yours to explore. Please note that the woods behind and to the side of the property are not part of our parcel and are off limits. There is a private driveway down the deck side of our parcel with very little traffic but you may see a car here and there.

We do not reside on property but are not far away should there be an emergency. Feel free to reach out at any time with questions or concerns.

Our cabin is a short drive outside of Bloomington a few miles into the country. The last mile is a beautiful secluded tree lined road with a few neighboring houses. Once you turn at our well marked mailbox (look for the A-frame sign on the post with the white mailbox) you will meander through the woods for a short bit before you come up the lane to the A frame style cabin.

You will need a car for transportation. There is room to park 6 cars comfortably on this large property.

This cabin is beautifully remodeled from a historic property built originally in 1969. Therefore there are some creaky floors on the second level and the HVAC is less traditional than a typical newer construction. However, it stays quite comfortable during any type of weather. There is also a somewhat steep lane coming in to the property. Should there be snow or ice this short area may be difficult to navigate in a rear wheel drive car. We will plow and ice melt but we do not control mother nature. However, we don't live far away and in the case of severe weather will be at your service to assist as needed. :-)

Items to note: There is a security camera on-site located on the light pole near the shed. This camera views the driveway, front of the home, parking area, parts of the yard and the outdoor area including the hot tub. This device is solely for security purposes and is not monitored, do not rely on it for personal safety. This home is equipped with devices that monitor the environment inside and outside the property (including noise levels, temperature, smoke air quality) to ensure guests have a pleasant stay and our neighbors are not disturbed. This does not record sound as our guests privacy is key. Tampering with any security device will unfortunately be cause for immediate cancellation with no refund.

As a private small business owner, we do require a separate renters agreement and a deposit hold for each booking. We abide by all privacy regulations required for all online businesses and maintain a high guest satisfaction rating. Should you have questions regarding this, please reach out.
