The owner is a much better communicator than I am. I didn’t realize my notifications were turned off and they made multiple attempts to entire the house was set up to our needs. The house was clean and fit our group nicely. 10/10 next door neighbors they sat on their porch and were very sweet to speak with. They helped me out of a difficult situation when unloading my bags at night when I arrived. They comforted me and helped restore my feelings of safety. While also remembering not to be outside alone. Strength in numbers. Overall a wonderful stay with an even better host. Thank you!

We loved our stay! The house was amazing and such a relaxing place to be. Everything we needed was at our fingertips. It felt like a home away from home, which not many properties are these days. We will definitely stay there again next time we venture down state!

easy to recommend

Clean and spacious - easy to get to downtown Detroit. Just north west of property, we walked through some beautiful neighborhoods with mansions from he 20's. Property manager/owner was easy to work with and kept a well stocked kitchen - plenty of stainless pans and glassware. Nice place.

Weekend in Detroit

Had a quick weekend trip to Detroit for a Lions game. House was in a convenient location to downtown and the airport and lots of good food options within 10-15 min away. Was a bit cold but the game room in the basement kept both the kids and adults entertained.

A gorgeous home away from home!

This property is a gem. It manages to be both spacious and cozy at the same time, which is no easy trick. Lots of room for individual family members, but plenty of "communal space" as well. Plus the location is close to all kinds of great dining and the neighborhood feels safe and, well, neighborly. In every way, we were made to feel like valued, welcome guests!

Perfect For Our Family

We brought our whole family down for AutoRama and chose this home as it looked like it would fit us ok. It was more than ok! It had plenty of room for us to spread out. The primary suite was so nice as there was even a couch to chill on in the morning. It was convenient to have a pack and play and highchair for our grandkid. Thank you so much and if we come back to Detroit, we will book again.

Spacious and Cozy

Super happy with the accommodations. It was well appointed and had driveway parking for 2 cars. We were a party of 6 and had lots of room. Sitting areas (yes there are 2) were great with an extra TV on the main floor and also the bedrooms. We were only there for one night but would stay again for longer if we were back in town. This is not located downtown, but a $21 uber/lyft got us to Ford Field in about 8 min with lots of traffic. Our host Mikoya was wonderful and communication was timely and helpful.

Quaint

Nicely remodeled older home, with still great potential. The communication was excellent, quick and responsive. We had a very late arrival, so they volunteered to bring in the groceries had we ordered ahead . The house was well supplied. They even had a pamlet with nearby interest. It's located close to downtown. The only negative was the lack of eye candy outside of the bedroom windows but, It is an older quiet neighborhood . Great If in town for an event

Bachelorette Party Rental

The host was easy to work with and communicate with before the stay. Although the property listing stated it has a spa whirlpool and I was disappointed to find there was nothing of the sort there. The air conditioning was portable a/c units that had tubing coming off of it that had water leaking into plastic containers that would over flow if not manually emptied. That was pretty annoying to deal with and not advertised. The house was clean overall besides those things. The neighborhood looked a little sketchy but my car was still there when I got up the next morning

Hi Jessie, thank you for staying at VP Manor and providing a review. Please note that no where in the listing does it say there is a spa whirpool. You are correct about the hoses from the portable a/c so I have corrected that issue and apologize for the inconvenience. The listing indicates that the neighborhood is in process of revitalization; however it is a great neighborhood with great neighbors and I have never had any issues. Again, thank you for choosing VP Manor and I hope that you would consider staying again.

I am a native Detroiter that sees the beauty in all. I appreciate my city and love to able to provide a space that welcomes all visitors so they can see first hand how great Detroit can be!

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

The home is located on a safe, quiet residential street just outside Detroit’s Historic Boston-Edison district. The area is known for its wide streets, classic homes, and a strong sense of community. Neighbors are friendly and welcoming, and the neighborhood maintains a peaceful, residential feel—especially in the evenings, with things typically winding down by 10 p.m.

One of the best parts of the neighborhood is the calm, unhurried atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a morning walk, relax on the front porch with a cup of coffee, or unwind in the evening without city noise. The developing nature of the area brings a sense of growth and pride, while still offering the quiet and privacy guests appreciate—particularly families, professionals, and long-term visitors.

What stands out most is the balance: close enough to downtown Detroit, major attractions, and business hubs to stay connected, yet far enough removed to enjoy rest, comfort, and a true neighborhood experience. It’s an ideal setting for guests who value space, quiet nights, and a welcoming community.

この宿泊施設の特徴

This spacious 2,200-sq-ft renovated historic home offers comfort, functionality, and room to spread out—making it an excellent choice for families, business professionals, and long-term guests. Originally built in 1916, the property has been fully updated while preserving its classic character.

The open-concept main level provides ample space for large groups to gather, featuring an expanded kitchen that connects easily to the living and dining areas. Large windows bring in abundant natural light, while room-darkening shades in the bedrooms create a calm, sleep-friendly environment for guests of all ages.
