Lovely place in a lovely town

Great house, Diana very helpful. Enjoyed all the bedrooms and the hangout areas. This area is so beautiful in the summer time (and surely other times of year) and this is a great place in which to enjoy it. The street is very quiet and peaceful, perfect dog walk down to the lake view park, and Bit O' Swiss, a world-class bakery, is right down the street.

Great house for our girls trip!

Perfect house for our girls trip. Diana was awesome. Communication was great and very accommodating! Beautiful area and there is a sitting area located at the end of the neighborhood to watch the sunset :)

Relax

The house was very clean, very well stocked and the kitchen was very well equipped. The owner was very responsive and timely. She was also very flexible. All in all, a very good stay! We would stay there again.

Enjoyed our stay.

I visited with my in-laws, wife, and our two young daughters. The house was clean, comfortably fit all of us, and had all the amenities we needed. The neighborhood was quiet and was a quick drive to beaches as well as downtown St. Joe and Stevensville. Diana was an engaged host who made helpful recommendations. We would stay again. Thank you!

Fun Girls' Time

We enjoyed our stay for our college friends reunion! The owner was extremely friendly and helpful with anything we needed! The location was great.....close to Lake Michigan, restaurants, and shopping....Just what we were looking for! We loved the house (although it does have a lot of steps). There was plenty of space for the five of us! The kitchen was supplied with everything we needed! We had a wonderful time!

Family Wedding in the area

We filled the beds with our family in town for a wedding in the area. Diana was very engaged before and during our stay. We had plenty of space to visit, to enjoy meals and to primp before our reason for staying. The short walk to the overlook at the end of the road was enjoyed by our group a couple of nights for sunset. The weather changed for hot and humid to windy and rainy during our stay. We didn’t use the fireplace but enjoyed the grill our last night.

Lovely place in Stevensville

We quite enjoyed our stay at the Sunset House. It is very conveniently located to restaurants, bakeries, groceries, etc. and just a couple houses from a lovely little park with a wonderful view of the sunset (and benches to watch it from). 10 minutes drive to downtown St. Joe and the beaches. The property is shady and has nice deck areas and a screened porch to enjoy outdoors. It has plenty of parking for a larger group, and several seating areas so folks can be together or apart as they prefer. Bedrooms are spacious. The only caveat is that you have a step up or down to (seems like) almost every room in the house, including the master bath; so maybe a consideration.

Family weekend

Booked this property for a large group of my family. The location is nice, very close to the lake (no access) and the house was large enough that there was plenty of space for 9 of us to not be tripping over each other. The house was not quite as advertised, there was supposed to be a "nursery/study" with a fold out couch, the room is there but the couch/futon didn't exist. The large room with multiple beds is actually a garage. Overall, the house could have been cleaner. The carpeting on the stairs was especially dirty & there were a number of areas in the house that smelled overwhelmingly of cat urine.

Wonderful for our birthday celebration!

9 adults stayed at Sunset House. The college students loved the privacy of the 3 season room; they could play games to their heart's content and sleep in without being bothered. The rest of us appreciated the wonderful beds and the lovely soft sheets and towels. The view from the deck was gorgeous and if you need an extra dose of the lake, you can take a short walk down to a small park. The kitchen was well equipped and there were two grills. All in all a wonderful place to celebrate my husband's 80th birthday. Be aware that there are some level changes...stairs up to the front door; three steps down to the lovely living room, one step down to the dining room with it's large table. The primary bedroom is upstairs and huge. It has a beautiful en-suite bath. The two other bedrooms are large and have king size beds. All in all a real find.

The Cowboy Cabin (formerly The Sunset House) has the greatest location in the St. Joe area! When you look outside, you see Lake Michigan and are surrounded by trees and natural habitat. But go a country block or a 1/4 mile and you have the best resturants, entertainment, shopping, groceries and all within walking distance or a short, SHORT drive! LOCATION! LOCATION!! LOCATION!!!

The Cowboy Cabin (formerly The Sunset House) draws you in as it is a cross between a cabin in the woods and a luxury home just 2 houses from Lake Michigan. All the while, it has the energy to host large happy families or, when you are the only one home, it has the peacefullness of a church sanctuary.
