Chapman’s Chapter is an outstanding lake home with space for your entire group. The secluded, wooded setting makes you feel like you have your own private retreat. Relax on one of the four balconies or the bluffside deck and marvel at the magnificent sunsets while grilling dinner and making memories.

Inside Chapman’s Chapter, soaring ceilings grace the living room along with a seasonal wood-burning fireplace, Smart TV, and a wall of windows overlooking Lake Michigan. The main level primary bedroom and bathroom are convenient for those who do not wish to do stairs. Four generous bedrooms and three full bathrooms can be found on the upper level. Two of the upper bedrooms have their own private balcony overlooking Lake Michigan. All this space allows your group to have privacy while still spending time together.

The beautiful kitchen was completely remodeled in 2019 bringing in stone counters, new appliances, updated cabinets, and new flooring. With the adjacent dining space, your entire group can sit and enjoy a meal together. 

You will love relaxing on the screen porch to visit with loved ones and listen to the sounds of Lake Michigan. Or, head down to the bluffside deck and adjacent fire pit. Here you can roast s'mores while reminiscing over times gone by and making new memories.

For a day of fun in the sand and sun, head down your private beach stairs (NEW February 2024) to your own private Lake Michigan beach. Here you can bask in the sun or splash in the cool water. Even in the winter months, you'll love heading down to the beach for walks and sunset views.

Chapman's Chapter is a historic cottage filled with character and memories of years past. You'll feel like your loved ones have gathered at grandma's lake cottage.

Conveniently located 15 minutes from Saugatuck/Douglas or Fennville and 20 minutes from South Haven. From days at the beach to shopping around town to nights at the theater and a multitude of dining establishments, you will love having Chapman's Chapter as your home base. 

Please Note:
This home is on a septic system. Please do not flush anything other than toilet paper. Flushing other items, such as feminine products, will result in a sewage backup into the showers. Please only flush toilet paper.
This home receives water via a well. Due to the high mineral content in our area, this water smells and tastes different than city water. Those who are accustomed to city water may wish to bring bottled water for drinking.
Please take care when in the yard near the bluff and keep an eye on children and pets. Due to erosion, the bluff is very steep.
This home is tucked in the trees right on Lake Michigan. It is common to see animals, mice, and other vermin. The property is serviced monthly by a professional pest company, but sometimes vermin do sneak in. Please let us know right away if you see evidence of anything inside and we will send out pest control. No rate adjustments can be made for vermin in or around the house.
The third-story loft is not included in the rental of this home. For the safety of you and your guests, the plywood stop must remain on the loft ladder at all times. If this space is used, you are doing so at your own risk and an additional fee will be charged.
