Welcome to Bostwick's Magnolia Manor, a stunning estate with a 5 bedroom 4.5 bath home( sleeps 12) 16, or 20 with additional outbuildings booked through VRBO, #3577812, & 3577804. We offer an unforgettable stay with Majestic gardens, water views, boat dock, & sunsets located South End Roanoke Island in the fishing village of Wanchese, NC . This property is a perfect reunion/ conference site with 7 acres of lush, grassy lawn, Our website link provides full disclosure of what this property has to offer. The sun-drenched windows and 20' ceilings facing west provide endless views of the sunsets, boat basin, marsh, and Croatan sound. The manor also has two adjacent rentals on the property, The Elderberry Studio & the Jasmine Bunkhouse. Each one can be added on for an additional fee and they each can sleep 4. Magnolia Manor can accommodate 12 guest and with additional buildings it can sleep 20.


Bostwick's Magnolia Manor was named after a magnificent magnolia tree that Laura Bostwick planted over 50 years ago. Laura was a legend in her own right, being the Great Granddaughter of Jabez Bostwick, a founding partner of Standard Oil. She loved everything about this home, the grounds, the views, and the privacy it offered, but most of all, she loved Wanchese and its people. As an avid big game fisherman and gourmet chef, Laura loved to entertain and host huge dinner parties. Her parties included a vast mix of characters from the who's who of New York City to the lowly local fishermen, making it a unique experience for all. Originally built in 1930, Laura Bostwick acquired the estate in 1978 and made it her home for 43 years until her passing in 2021.

We absolutely loved our stay! The home is beautifully situated with peaceful marsh views by day and breathtaking sunsets every evening. It was the perfect spot for hosting our Thanksgiving gathering — the layout is made for entertaining with plenty of space for everyone to cook, dine, and relax together. Every room felt comfortable and thoughtfully designed, making it easy to unwind and feel right at home.We created so many wonderful memories here and couldn’t have asked for a better holiday retreat. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a scenic, comfortable, and well-appointed place to stay.

Love this place

This house was gorgeous! We booked all of the connecting properties and it was perfect for our friends and family. The kitchen has everything you could need, plenty of lounge space, and so comfortable! The only thing I wish I had been aware of is that the “office bedroom” is not actually a private space.

The house is amazing. The two younger kiddos enjoyed the bunk beds and our oldest enjoyed having his own room and space. The kitchen cane with every dish and utensil needed to cook meals during our stay. It's close enough to get to beaches and other sight seeing spots yet secluded for when you just want to relax away from it all. Plenty of entertainment spaces and room to play games. All in all a very nice place to stay.

This place is everything it is promised to be. We really enjoyed the large, well-maintained back yard for gathering with friends and family. The house had plenty of room, plenty of hot water and great showers, and comfortable beds. Everything worked perfectly from the tvs, to the kitchen equipment, and the AC. Just a well-cared for property and a welcoming host. We really appreciated this getaway to spend time with people important to us. Thank you.

We recently had an event at this beautiful home! The most difficult thing about it was choosing which room to choose. I had been looking at this house for almost a year for my wedding and it far surpassed my expectations. It was beautiful and clean and perfect for our small wedding with family and friends. I highly recommend this property as pictures absolutely do not do it justice.

Beautiful getaway

Highly recommend not only booking the manor but also the other add on properties for this location. The home and property are straight out of a dream. The sunrises and sunsets from the backyard are amazing. The owners were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely book this home again in the future.

Best place for a break

Many in our family are disabled veterans and this property accommodated the special needs for each of person. The two bedrooms on the first floor truly were a blessing.

Awesome property - exactly as advertised!

The home was perfect for our group. Large, spacious indoor and out. Everything is meticulously maintained and tastefully decorated. Plenty of gathering spots inside the home for entertaining. The grounds outside are also well maintained and offer lots of opportunities for activities. Highly recommend this property!

Amazing!

We had a little glitch with check in schedule, but Laurie and Vickie were amazing at making everything right and comfortable. We had a large group of 32 kids, teens, parents for my mom's birthday family reunion. The properties were very comfortable, well stocked with linens. It was an amazing stay! We would highly recommend and definitely hope to get there again!!!

Amazing Wedding Venue

This was the perfect place to bring our families together for 4 days as we were married in the backyard. Everyone had so much fun! Our friends joined us to watch us get married and then we celebrated with dinner, music, dancing, badminton, bags, light sabres, beach balls…lol we had a blast!

We rented this house due to our son getting married in Manteo. We took elderly grandparents , aunts, friends my daughter and son in law and their two dogs. 12 total. It was a beautiful and eclectic house with plenty of room. A spacious lawn for the dogs to run, bikes and kayaks host was responsive

One of the best Vacations we have ever had

When they say location is everything they are referring to this house, it's perfectly positioned to go 15 to 25 minutes and be anywhere you want to be from a great restaurant to jet skis and walking on the pier. Great location. We had all of our immediate family including grandparents, stay at the home and we very much enjoyed it with great memories, photography of both the inside and outside of the home made for perfect family photos. Customer service was amazing very detail oriented and made everything from the check in to check out seamless.

Haven's Wedding

Everything was perfect! We rented both houses for a weekend wedding. The grounds were beautiful and the house was made for parties! Wanchese is a great place to stay if you want to get away from the hustle and bussel of the beach. I will defiantly go back!

Family vacation to celebrate our 30th anniversary

This is a spectacular home and property. We enjoyed everything it had to offer, especially the amazing kitchen and all of the outdoor spaces! The neighborhood was peaceful and lovely and it was fun seeing people ride by on their horses in the evenings. I highly recommend for families and larger gatherings, there’s so much to do right there, from kayaking and fishing to playing frisbee and soccer on the huge lawn! Also the landscaping is as gorgeous as the home!

Amazing retreat

This is a beautiful property! From the super comfortable beds, to the well stocked gourmet kitchen, and backyard kayaks there is nothing that we could have imagined to want or need more. It is in a great location away from the hustle and bustle of things, but convenient to reach everything. Laurie was a wonderful host- accessible, knowledgeable about the local area, and so warm. We hope to be back there soon! Thank you Laurie!

Awesome home!

Laurie’s home was a great place for our family. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, two separate living room spaces and an incredible kitchen! Laurie was a gracious host and provided anything we needed! This home is decorated beautifully and provided a huge back yard for our dogs to run and play! The huge table allowed for great family meals. Only 10 minutes over to the beach and centrally located to the entire outer banks. We enjoyed one day up to Carova and another day down to Cape Hatteras. We will certainly be back again!

The owner was great!

We have a great time at our stay! There was some miscommunication between us and the property manager but we actually made connection with the property owner and she was fantastic and set our minds at ease and helped us have a fabulous stay! The property is beautiful! It includes the house itself, plus the studio apartment. The bunk house was not finished when we were there but they were working on it. This property was definitely a steal and Laurie made it all really great!

This waterfront manor/estate is nestled in the quiet village of Wanchese, NC. The sprawling property sleeps 12-14 people. The gourmet kitchen is perfect for entertaining. The sunsets here have no rivals. The hand crafted 18ft outside dining table nestled on the garden patio makes evening cocktails and dinner while watching the sunset even more special. The convenient laundry room, movie room and spacious bedrooms will fit everyone comfortably .
