Rustic but totally renovated private Chalet at Echo Summit nestled in the woods with an amazing hot tub deck overlooking the huge Jeffrey pines on the mountain behind the house. Just one half mile from the Pacific Crest Trail, 2 miles from Echo lake and 12 miles from South Lake Tahoe and all it has to offer. For restaurants and shopping its just 4 miles from the town of Meyers with a full service grocery store and many excellent restaurant options. In addition the house was recently totally renovated with new granite countertops, bathrooms (with a great separate shower room), stainless steel appliances, new floors and all new electrical and plumbing.
Stays during snow seasons: The house is in a perfect location for snow sports. It’s just 1 1/2 miles from the entrance to Sierra at Tahoe resort, 12 miles to Heavenly resort or 31 miles to Kirkwood. You can also snowshoe or cross-country ski right out the door and head up the hill behind the house to an overlook of Echo Lake and continue on to Desperation Wilderness. The snow at Echo Summit can be fairly minimal or it can be very heavy. If the calendar shows the house is available to rent, we will make every effort we can to make sure you have access to the house and its adjoining hot tub deck. If access is not possible, we will inform you of that as soon as we can and will offer you a 100% refund. When there is snow on the ground the frontage road in front of the house will be plowed as needed for parking and a path to the front door will be plowed however depending on the amount of snow on the ground and the type of vehicle you have you may need to park in the street and walk through snow for approximately 150 feet to the house.
The snow will be plowed in the morning anytime there is more than 6 inches of snow since the last time it was plowed. However, if it is plowed in the morning and it snows during the day the snow that fell during the day will not be plowed until the following morning. There will be a snow shovel there for you to shovel the small area between the edge of the front entrance deck and the path plowed on the driveway, the snow that has fallen on the walkway from the second floor to the hot tub deck and to shovel around your car as needed. Snow typically falls anywhere from November to April but may still be on the ground in May.
