Good location

This is a great location near Johns Pass. Convenient parking, access to the beach, & nice pool. However, the bed was terrible. I don’t know if we would stay again due to this.

Great location within walking distance of a lot of things. Johns Pass a lot of places to have fun. Would stay here again! Online check in was fast and easy.

The pool was nice and the beach was even better. We were in walking distance of Johns Pass and had spectacular sun set views every night. Highly recommend staying here.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have been coming to Surf Song for a years. The location and check-in process is perfect. However, the property is severely declining. The carpets on each floor are terribly stained, the paint is peeling off the trim, door frames and discolored on the walls. The ACs are struggling and the stoves are shot. We were unable to use the pool for 2 days as the water was milky, the cords from pool lights were hanging in the water and there were bugs lining the walls. I understand these are rentals and it's hard to keep things pristine with high turn over, but it does not make guests feel worthy or of value. It was truly disheartening because we love Surf Song, we rent 4 condos with all of our family each year and this year was tough!

We love the small size of the complex, the pool is always warm, and we love using the gas grilles! They are a major selling point.

Don’t recommend

The plus sides to this property is that John’s pass is across the street. It’s close to the beach with covered parking under the building and the elevators don’t take long to access and get up and down. The furniture is dated but it wasn’t horrible. We didn’t use the appliances other than the fridge and it was clean and cold. It also has an ice maker which was helpful. The not so good parts are most definitely the bed! We hurt the whole time by sleeping on this. It felt like we were literally sleeping on a box spring! They don’t give you many wash rags so I’m thankful we brought more for our week stay. You can’t turn the ac below 72 which we didn’t and the ac stopped working and we burnt up our last night. It didn’t remain cool in the unit the whole week and after all day in the sun you want to be cool. We don’t recommend…

Disappointed

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I have returned and stayed at the Surf Song many times over the last 35 years, and my parents, siblings and my son all have also visited many, MANY times. It was the place we considered to be our home away from home, and we have many happy memories there. It was a yearly Mother's Day trek for us, and hence I have stayed in all most every unit there, but unfortunately I was very disappointed this time. Room 347 was not at all what I was expecting. The decor, window coverings and furniture was very dated, the toilet paper holder kept falling off, the bathroom sink leaked, and to top it off, the property next to us was being sandblasted, so we could not even sit on the balcony during the day :( The noise and bad music from John's Pass was also a deterrent to us being able to enjoy the balcony and sit outside. I realize some of that is out of your control, but I can't say I remember this kind of stuff being an issue from other times I stayed on the Surf Song property, so I was extremely disheartened with the experience. I had expected to be in the end room, #348, so when we opened the door I was immediately unhappy. We tried to change our reservations and would have forfeited our stay in 347 and paid for another Sunhost rental altogether, but the girl in the office rudely brushed us off stating there was no possibility of that.I can't say that I will never return to another SunHost property or room in the Surf Song, but I can say I will never recommend room 347 or return there. I apologize for saying negative things about this rental, but the truth is it was just plain awful.
