The house was very cute and decorated nicely. Nice kitchen and enjoyed playing games at the dining room table. However there were many areas that needed improvement. The yard was not well kept. The house is heated with a gas stove and space heaters only. This was not disclosed ahead of time and not comfortable. Either too hot or too cold. No carbon monoxide detectors. We had someone who is vision impaired. The heater has no barrier around it which makes navigation difficult and could be a problem if you have children. All lighting in the house is very dim. Which was also a problem. A few brighter lights would have made the space more user friendly. Mattress on twin bed has a dip in the middle. But the 2 queens were very comfortable. Overall it was a nice stay.

Simple, home like, clean and welcoming perfect

Wanted to have our small multigenerational fam stay where everybody could relax and be together at the same time. The grandkids sitting on the couch poring over their tide pool books defined the stay. Beautiful all the way around. If we didn't live across the country we would come here often. Thank you for your hospitality and the warm welcome feeling of the whole stay.

Great place in perfect location. We lucked out with mostly nice weather which made walking the nearby trails a joy. Loved all the amenities.
Beach nearby.

Absolutely perfect! We stayed at the “Purple House” for 3 nights, and it was wonderful. Our group consisted of my husband, myself, our 3 year old daughter, my parents and our fur babies. We were all very comfortable and got to enjoy some quality family time. The house is even better in person! It is decorated with some of the neatest decor, I walked around for about 30 minutes just taking it all in. The beds are so comfortable and the rooms, very spacious. Our daughter loved her little bedroom off of the living room, and enjoyed “chilling” in there after a day at the beach. The home is well stocked with everything you may need to cook your meals in, and is very clean. The owners made check in/out a breeze, and let us know that we could reach out should we have needed anything. I truly cannot wait to return, it was just absolutely perfect!

Charming, comfortable and quiet beach cottage with welcoming garden and a great kitchen. The host was very welcoming and accommodating. Loved the 10’ beach walk and enjoyed a great dinner nearby.

Good

We had a good stay. I like to give accurate and detailed reviews in order to help others when they are booking, as I really depend on reviews myself when I'm searching for rentals. Pros: Fire pit outside with a nice seating area and firewood was great for hanging out by the fire and bonding. They provided blankets to use when it was chilly. Great secured yard for our dogs. Our dogs were very happy here. Nice street location. Short walk to the beach access and a pleasant neighborhood overall. Cons: not much counter space in the bathroom, a tight squeeze for our stuff. The floor in the house seems sunken. Not sure what that's about. not really a big deal, but just odd. One of the bathrooms has a laundry room in it. again, not a huge deal, just makes the experience less fancy than you see in the photos. We had some confusion in our communication with the host that caused us some stress in our plans over the weekend. Perhaps some more specific info about where to park and where not to park would help the host provide clearer expectations. Overall a nice choice, but I wouldn't say it's a 5 star experience.

Great Property

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Beach Cottage. It was conveniently located in Half Moon Bay, and the property was clean, quiet and well equipped. Our dogs also enjoyed the fully fenced in yard. We would highly recommend staying at this property.

Good communication, easy & low key stay

Checkin was simple. We had a nice quiet weekend reading, enjoying the yard, and enjoyed a local pizza place.

Charming cottage in relaxing location

My adult children and I and my small dog really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is clean, cozy and well-appointed, with ocean walks just down the street. Easy access. Beds were comfortable, even the twin.

Wonderful peaceful retreat

I was looking for a quiet space for me to study and I found it here! This house is beautiful, the space is luminous, very quiet neighborhood and you can’t beat the location being steps away from the coastal trail. Would come back without hesitation ! The hosts were very kind and readily available for questions. Can only recommend it!

Perfect little getaway

Enjoyed our stay! House and property looked just like the pictures which was nice. Fenced yard was perfect for our dog. Location to the beach and downtown was ideal. Would stay again :)

Cozy even in a storm

We arrived in HMB in the middle of a horrendous storm to such a warm and cozy home. We were so appreciative that the owners had started the fireplace for us. I had to call to get instructions on how to start the fireplace (embarrassingly easy) and the owners were lovely. I loved this charming home. It is in a great location for walking along the coast and easy access to the heart of HMB.

Perfect

This was the perfect place for us. We could walk or ride our bikes to the beach and it was only a short drive into town. It was a very clean and comfortable house and the fenced in yard was perfect for our little dog. I would definitely rent this house again. Thank you!

Great Location

I was in the area to get together with a bunch of friends, and spend a lot of outdoor time with my dog. The house was really clean, nice set up, and the outside area was great. Communication with the owners was great. The neighborhood is really quiet and walking distance to the Wavecrest trails and just a short drive into town. Amazing location and very quiet. The loudest sounds were the resident birds who sang all day long. Will definitely use this property again.
