The Allegheny Commons park is Pittsburgh's oldest park---- known for its mature canopy trees and lovely Lake Elizabeth, it is within walking distance from Loraine Street. Max's Tavern is an authentic German no frills restaurant with a great little bar and cozy booths. If you are looking for something a little more fancy, Fig and Ash on East Ohio street is the place to be. Delicious home-away-from-dishes led by one of Pittsburgh's top chefs. Pittsburgh Light Rail Transit known as the "T" is free into downtown and the Monongahela Incline. Allegheny Station is on the North Shore (22 min walk). Free scooter hubs located throughout the city. Pittsburgh is notorious for confusing directions---but no complaints about traffic. Your best bet though is to leave your vehicle behind to avoid confusing directions—-even from your navigation. ➲When outside on the roof top deck you will see and hear AGH's Medevac helicopter occasionally. Please do not book if you are uncomfortable with that. ➲The 2nd floor bathroom is perfectly functional but it fills up slowly. ➲You will be in the City with all it's wonderful glory and diversity. Some of the buildings are not in great shape but many are being renovated. North Side has been flourishing in the past several years as you can tell by the renovation that has taken place at the Garden Theater on West North Avenue. ➲Please note while exploring the neighborhood, you may encounter some of our neighbors who are experiencing homelessness. We encourage guests to approach this with empathy and understanding.
