Relax on the James River in this one bedroom getaway with access to the river and picnic table. This lovely place has a kitchen and one big bathroom with a shower. Big screen tv with DVD player. 2 kayaks available to use while staying. paddles and life vest. Great summer getaway, James River State Park 7 miles down the river, a little store just a half a mile up the road. House has ac, fridge, a gas stove and sink. Kitchen is stocked up with plates and stuff.
Gas grill outside the back door.
Covered Gazebo with dining area right outside the house. Two lounge chairs to relax from a day fishing and kayaking on the river.
Cell service is not the greatest in this area. Verizon works great.

Cute eclectic cabin

Perfect location for what we need. We felt like we were at our Grandmas house. A few things (electrically) need updates for safety sake. Sheets and towels were so soft. Nice outdoor are.stove&fridoutdooroutdoorarea.ffack!

Absolutely wonderful stay. Just right for 2 ….. walked along the river (didn’t have time for the kayaks I’m afraid…). Sat out side under the patio in the back…. super quiet. Ran the quiet country road in the morning. Very comprehensive kitchen set up….hot showers and the best towels ever. Not bougie….very homey. Really enjoyed it. Highly recommend.

No WiFi?!?!

The cabin was very small. Lots of bugs and spiders. Ceiling plaster peeling off. No TV instructions and barely worked when we figured it out. No wifi or cell service at all. Had to drive a few miles away to pull up email with the code. Too small and just not what expected.

Never stated that I have WiFi. Bugs tend to get into houses alone the river, we spray before each stay. This cottage has lots of amenities to enjoy. It's mostly for a outdoors/ fishing guest or someone who loves nature and the water. I hate that your stay here was for all the wrong reasons for visiting. I keep my prices reasonable because it's a smaller cottage and no Wi-Fi.

Very cozy and comfortable. It was a relaxing time, which was what we were looking for. They had a couple of games and and DVDs.

This was a sparkling clean, newly renovated mobile home in a very quiet neighborhood. The river is right across the street, but you have to walk about 100 yards down the road in order to see it. Carrying a canoe all that way would take some effort! The home was comfortable in spite of temperatures close to 100 degrees during our stay. It is a new listing and would merit a 5-star rating except that it had no internet which we were aware of in advance, the closets were locked in the bedrooms so no way to hang clothes and it needed a fan for the second bedroom. Other than that the appliances were brand new and shiny, the furnishings attractive, decor cute and best of all the beds and sofa were very comfortable. Also they had tons of soft flurry towels, a good hair dryer and shampoo and soap in the bathroom. And they allowed dogs! Overall, a very comfortable, peaceful getaway.

I allowed you to stay at this 2 bedroom for the same price as the listing of the cottage. I told you that I had to replace the kitchen sink in the cottage. The cottage only has 1 bedroom, I wanted to accommodate you guys so you could still enjoy yourself, the place you stayed is a new listing as it was renovated and it cost more, but it wasn't rented so I allowed you to for the same price as the cottage. And as far as the Internet I stated in the listing I didn't have, and the canoe you can take with you to the boat ramp with your vehicle. I never said you had to carry the canoe to the boat ramp. I'm sorry I tried my best to make your trip enjoyable, by letting you stay at this new 2 bedroom place.
