Wonderful spot for family or friends! My 4-year-old loved the basement bedroom with bunk beds — lots of space to play. The rooms were very comfortable, and the fireplace was amazing. We were also really impressed with the fully equipped kitchen that had everything we needed.

Great house to stay in, especially with a family. We had infants and small children, young adults and seniors and all of us appreciated it. While the driveway was definitely a bit of a beast ( we had a truck and suv with AWD) there was nothing that we weren’t able to work with.

The house was in a great location, close proximity to the town center but on a residential road so was private and quiet. We enjoyed our stay overall. The deck was especially great in the warm weather for enjoying a nice meal. However there are some areas that need improvement - the tap water tasted metallic so we ended up buying bottled water for consumption. And only one of the hobs seemed to work, so it took forever to cook dinner.Andrew was responsive before and after our trip but when contacted about an ongoing beeping noise downstairs during our stay, he did not reply until we left. So that was inconvenient because we ended up having to figure it out ourselves.

Good location for exploring the island, not too far from Ganges and Beddis beach. No view of water due to vegetation. Nice place but could use some basic kitchen supplies. Very little glassware, no grater or vegetable peeler. 1/4 roll of paper towel with no replacement. We did not attempt to use the dishwasher (small countertop that hooks to the sink). With 4 people would have needed to run often. Pillowcases on one of beds appeared/smelled dirty like they hadn’t been changed. But, our biggest complaint was about check in. I was sent the check in information about 2.5 hours before check in time only after I sent messages via VRBO, left a VM and finally texted the owner. I have never had this happen before, typically getting the information 2 days beforehand. We had a 3 hour ferry ride to reach the island and spotty cell service so not knowing we had a place to stay was stressful. Not what I’m looking for on vacation! There was no apology or explanation as to why I hadn’t heard from them earlier. I asked about an early check in and was told he would check with the cleaners, but he never got back to me. That was fine as we were happy to explore Ganges, but it was another point of lack of communication.

What an incredible spot! We are so lucky to have stayed in this gorgeous location - a lovely home, in a fabulous setting. The feel of a cottage, with so much space and all the conveniences of home. A wonderful place to explore Salt Spring Island. Wish we could have stayed longer.

For starters Andrew was an amazing host and very responsive. The place was very well equipped with all the necessities and more including a flat iron :). And was located close to Ganges.We booked this place based on the photos both internal and external. However, we found the inside quite dark and gloomy even during the day. From the pictures it looked like it had a lot of natural light but that wasn’t the case. In the evening even with the lights on it was not very well lit and again dark.The bathroom is nice and seems newly renovated however the rest of the cottage was quite rustic and could use some upgrades (ie kitchen) including the couch.There is a bathroom and huge sleeping are downstairs but was unusable as there was a bit of a musty smell.Although the photos of the patio space looked inviting, it wasn’t that in reality.This place is excellent if you are not planning to spend much time on site; and/or if you are not fussed with rustic, somewhat dated surroundings and a dark environment. For us and our liking it seemed a bit depressing.

Very nice house, good price, beautiful setting on a very quiet road. Driveway is very difficult, even in an all-wheel drive vehicle. Furniture is very worn especially the couch in the living room. Lots of stuff jammed every-which-way in kitchen cupboards and bedroom closets. Still overall a great stay.

Great Spot for the weekend

stayed here for a quick trip on the island for a friends wedding, the cabin had everything we needed for the weekend and was surprisingly larger than the pictures perceived. I would recommend.

Perfect stay

We had a lovely stay at this Salt Spring Island rental while attending a wedding. The house was perfect for our group. We spent most of our time out on the spacious deck soaking in the peaceful natural surroundings. The location was convenient, right between the ferry and downtown Ganges. A great spot for a relaxing and scenic getaway! Thank you!

The house was spacious, well supplied with all that we needed for a comfortable stay. It was very clean, quiet, beds comfortable, and we appreciated the ambience of the forest. Turning in the driveway was a bit of a challenge with the kayaks on the cars, but a small thing in the end. There were four of us, but this cottage would be good for more, and prepared for young children too. The wood burning stove was cozy to light after a cold day kayaking. We enjoyed our stay.

Charming

Stayed here with my husband and family for a week in April 2025. The house was clean and the view was outstanding from the back deck. Unfortunately, due to the weather not fully coopering, we weren't able tp spend much time outside but can only imagine that during the warmer months, I wouldn't want to come inside. Rooms are very comfortable but the kitchen cabinetry is in need of repairs. The couch was not comfortable at all. The driveways could use more lighting as when we returned after sunset, it was difficult due to the hairpin turn.The downstairs and bathrooms appear to be newly renovated and the the house was well stocked with supplies such as coffee, toiletries and cleaning supplies. We plan to be returning customers in the not too distant future.

Lovely area

It was a great cabin for a family with lots of space for everyone. Not shorefront but we could see the ocean through the trees from the deck. Nice and close to town. The driveway was a bit challenging as there's not a lot of room to maneuver and it was a rainy week so quite mucky.

Stay was good but check in instructions were unclear.

The place was very clean. The bathroom was gorgeous! We didn't get clear check in instructions but perhaps that was VRBOs fault. The host made an effort to follow up once we were checked in to make sure everything was good!

Property and facilities as described

Very peaceful and relaxing - a retreat-like setting. The deck is wonderful, and a good place for reading, cooking and meditation. We were a party of 5 adults and the house worked perfectly. The communication was very clear

Lovely visit

We had a small gathering to celebrate my birthday. Host was super responsive and flexible with our requests. Location is decent and only a 10 min drive to major attractions (goat cheese farm, beaches, main town area). We had very minor negatives: - the toilet was stained. It uses a septic system so not sure if that's normal but it was a bit off-putting - central couch area isn't that comfortable and not quite big enough for a party of 6 (couch could definitely use an upgrade as it was a tad lumpy). - the dishwasher could be improved as it's small and dishes didn't always come out clean. The deck would be gorgeous in warmer weather (we couldn't enjoy it as much due to the colder weather) as it's a big space that can entertain many. There was also a fire pit out there and a hot tub in the back but neither of them were operational which is fine as it wasn't advertised (but seeing them there was very tantalising). I would definitely consider coming back as we loved exploring Salt Spring and we were super thankful to our considerate hosts.

Lovely cottage in great area

Really helpful hosts, very comfortable house with a great balcony. Easily accessible to other parts of the island. Highly recommend and would come back!

we like the properyt.the only probem we had was trying to park the long truck to back out to drive out.but slow figure out how to due it with our truck
