Quiet condo at Key Colony

We live the Key Colony area for the quiet, cleanliness, and secure area. Everything is well kept and the staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was wonderful and the beach is very nice (yes, there is the seaweed but no one can control this at any beach in the Keys). They did so well keeping the sand clear. The condo was very clean and well equipped. We love the Marathon area since it is mostly half way to Key West and many restaurants in the area to choose from.

Couldn’t ask for more.

Great location, quiet and clean. Attention to detail was fantastic and they had all the extras you could ask for. Fully stocked kitchen, beach chairs, towels…everything was thought of.

Very nicely decorated and furnished. Great location and neighborhood. Only suggestion for the owner would be to upgrade the TV cable to HD (only SD provided). Otherwise, highly recommended!

33 by the sea was great!

Our stay at 33 by the sea was great! The room layout was perfect for our family as it allowed the kids their space and us some privacy. Very clean with everything that a family can need provided from dishes to towels and laundry. The pool and private beach were very nice. Prime location made it very easy to key hop to the upper and lower keys. Close to grocery shopping, restaurants, several activities and attractions. One of the highlights of 33 by the sea was sunset park which is 2 minutes walking distance. We've traveled all over the world and the sunsets there were top tier. We accidentally left some clothes and the owners shipped them to us. Definitely recommend choosing 33 by the sea.

Wonderful vacation spot

The condo is exactly as described and photos are also accurate. Having a great time! When we initially booked the condo for 2 weeks we checked to see if the condo was available for a 3rd week and when we found out it was we booked for a 3rd week. Our initial 2 weeks are over but we are very happy we have 1 more week to enjoy. Very nice, clean condo. Close to beaches and great pool. The 3rd floor steps take a bit getting used to. One negative is that the dryer on our floor doesn't work and while a new dryer has been on order we've had to use the dryers on the 2nd and 1st floor. All in all it's a great place to stay!

Just perfect

This was our first time in the Keys, and after trying to decide if we should move around a couple of times, I just booked this place for the whole week. Couldn't have been better. The apartment was absolutely spotless, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable. We enjoyed the little beach (others have said it's too small - I mean, it's 25 steps away! what do you want!), the pool, and walking over to Sunset Park for sunset. Easy trips to Sombrero Beach, Bahia Honda, Key West, and Islamorada - and also a couple days of not leaving the property at all. Slept so well I asked about the mattress - better than ours at home! Heed others' reviews about bringing quarters - $2 to wash, $2 to dry. Then you don't have to waste time chasing down quarters (though you can get them from the office during business hours).

Perfect perfect perfect!

If you are reading all these, you are narrowing down your search. Let me help you - this is it! The perfect mix of pool, beach, perfect lodging, and location. We took two 13-year old girls and stayed in Marathon as our center spot. We flew to FL and then we drove down from Miami and got in around 5pm after stopping at the Publix for groceries. Breakfast and lunch at the condo and dinner out each night. The pool was perfect and never busy - lots of chairs, even during spring break time. The beach also had plenty of chairs and umbrellas and lots of room. We fished from shore at the condo and caught several small fish and grunts, also saw rays and other creatures from the water. The condo is perfectly decorated and was great for the 4 of us. Marathon is the perfect center location for stuff to do, the Bahia Honda State Park, food, turtle hospital, and Key West (90 minutes south). We have ZERO complaints or suggestions for the condo itself - just perfect. Check in/out was easy with the key pad. Bring some quarters for laundry but that was very easy to do. Go to Sunset Park at night (VERY short walk). We loved Island Fish Co. and Sparkys (grilled the fish we caught). Stopped at Robbys on the way down which was super fun in Islamorada. Buy a key lime pie or two for your freezer at night. We will return, and will definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Comfortable Relaxing and Quiet

Before we left Boston, we received a text from the host saying that there were wildfires in and around Miami warning us that the highway to Key West had significant delays. Luckily, we flew into Key West. That was very thoughtful to reach out and tell us. (BTW, watch for police when you leave the Key West airport - we got tagged). When we arrived at the condo, there was a welcome gift bag. That set the warm and friendly tone for our entire stay. The condo was clean, comfortable and the linens were new and soft - great pillows. The kitchen had everything that we needed. Even extras that most VRBOs don't offer like dish detergent, food wrap. They have a drying rack for towels, beach chairs, coolers, games, etc. The beach was amazing. It's raked every morning so there was no seaweed. The pool was quiet and never busy. The beach and pool are really only steps away. Even my hubby could do it with arthritic feet. There is a washer and dryer outside the condo door. They both take 2.00 in quarters. Not a huge drawback. Just come prepared. It's close to grocery and souvenir shopping. We golfed at Florida Keys Golf Course - not awesome course but so friendly. Went to Bahia Honda, don't waste the time. The beach here is 1,000 times better. We swam with the dolphins and Sea Lions - that's a must do. Of course, walk to the sunset. If I ever come back to the Keys I would stay here and I even might come back just to stay here. Very highly recommended!

Great Location in the Middle Keys

My wife and I quite enjoyed this accommodation, our fist time to the keys. The condo was spotless, airy and bright and had obviously seen some upgrades from the original fixtures (it's a 70's era building). The condo buildings and grounds are all kept and maintained. The beach is small but sandy and clean, we spent a fair bit of time lounging on the lawn and using the beach, although there wan't much natural shade (it was 88 degrees). Location is great - you are within easy driving distance of both ends of the keys, as well as a couple of municipal beaches and Bahia Honda State park. Grocery shopping (Publix or Winn-Dixie) was 12 minutes away on Hwy 1, liquor store beside the Publix. The only thing we missed was the view from the balconies (they are not very deep, view is mostly parking lot or next building - but better than looking at snow). You can't help that when you're the 3rd building from the beach.

Amazing time

This was our second time at this property and it was definitely worth it. The area is extremely relaxed and just what we needed. The property is beautiful and extremely clean and well taken care of. The pool is perfect and the private beach is sublime. Highly recommend to anyone on the fence.

Perfect home base!

My husband and I stayed with our 2 teenage kids. The condo was a perfect size and close to so many different things. We were there for lobster mini season and had a great week. The condo was on the 3rd floor and always had an amazing breeze off of the master bedroom balcony. We walked in the morning/evenings up and down the neighboring streets. Felt very safe. Be sure to bring quarters for the coin laundry-it’s just right outside your door but very quiet.

Wonderful location

Our stay in Key Colony was perfect. This condo is in a quiet location, a clean property and right on a beach. The condo is very clean, kitchen has everything you will need and beautifully decorated. The beds were very comfortable and the AC works perfect! Just a very short walk to Sunset Park where we watched the sunset every night. We would highly recommend this condo.

We have stayed at Sea Isle a number of times. This unit did not disappoint. Both balconies had a view of the water. The condo was well stocked making it feel like we were staying with friends and not in a rental unit. Overall we had a great stay!

We truly enjoyed our time at this beautiful condo!

The condo had a fully stocked kitchen and bathrooms with almost everything you would need. The pool was great and the beach was raked everyday. The only thing for us who are seniors was the fact it was on the third floor and no elevator.

Relaxation

Great location, enjoyed our stay overall. Main bathroom is not ventilated well and gets hot. Left note at the end of our stay via email about accidentally leaving food in microwave but never heard back. The three flights of stairs are steep and somewhat taxing even while not carrying anything. Mostly clean. Great private beach area with convenient shower and picnic tables under cover with grill and trash disposal area. Enjoyed the grassy area for cornhole in late afternoons.
