Welcome to The Salty Seahorse!
This is where your dream vacation starts! Our house is located on the 4x4 beach in Corolla NC. You will need a 4-wheel drive vehicle to get to the house and to make the short 4-minute drive to the beach. We include 4 parking passes that you can use to park on the beach.
You can drive and park right on the beautiful beach, there is no need to drag or carry beach items! Just load up your truck or trailer with coolers, tents, canopy's, beach chairs, etc. and park on the beach! Set up is a breeze! The house gives you privacy and peaceful tranquility throughout the day.
Wild horse sightings are almost guaranteed, in fact you will often see them right from the house dock and deck. In addition, you will see many different types of wildlife, including large birds in the canal.
The house is spacious and has 1 queen, 2 fulls, 3 bunks (full over twin over twin). Sleeps 18 comfortably. Downstairs sofa also easily converts for a bed for additional guests.

-Huge black walnut live edge dining table seats 10
-Breakfast bar seats 4
-Additional chest freezer and refrigerator in the garage for extra storage and easy access to bring items into your car for a day at the beach
-Downstairs living room with huge sofa. Great for movie night!
-Popcorn machine
-Hot dog machine (makes 50 hot dogs with bun warmer)
-Screened in porch with fans and lights that overlooks the canal
-Beautiful view of the canal
-Private dock for fishing and docking your boat (boat ramp can be accessed with a short drive). Canal provides access to the deeper water to fish as well.
-Private driveway to park vehicles
-Towels and bedding are provided
-Bed sheets, comforter, pillows, pillowcases will all be clean and on the beds when you arrive
-Washer and dryer on bottom floor
-Full size propane grill on top deck, tank included.
-Smart lock for easy secure access to enter/exit the house
Pets:
2 dogs (75lbs or less) are allowed. The dogs must be potty trained and well behaved. Any damage caused by your pet will be additional fees. Dogs are accepted or denied at our discretion.
Kayak Rentals are available for an additional cost.
You are responsible for all of your guests, please treat our home with the love and respect that you would your own.

This house is managed and owned by 2 family members (Andrew, and David). We are all from Maryland, but fell in love with the 4x4 beach in Corolla NC. It is the most amazing place in the world. The area is full of adventure, excitement, and fun. That being said, the area also offers tranquility and relaxation. We all love the beach and really enjoy all that the 4x4 beach has to offer.
Andrew enjoys photography, antique cars, and of course the beach!
David enjoys fishing, boating, and relaxing on the beach.
We love interacting with people and providing an amazing vacation experience for guests. This is an amazing place and experience, we want to share it with as many people as we can. Tranquility and peaceful area around the house. The parking permits included in your rental allow parking directly on the 4x4 beach. You don't have to carry or walk all of your coolers, umbrellas, canopies, etc to the beach, just load them on your vehicle or trailer and park right by your set up. You will definitely see the famous WILD HORSES! The horses come right up to the house/yard. You will get some amazing photos and the kids will love it! Imagine relaxing at the beach and all of a sudden you see 3 to 4 wild horses running up and down the beach, it is truly an amazing sight. The horses are wild, free, and protected. You must not feed them and you must stay 50 ft. back and not approach them. Observing and taking photos of them is strongly encouraged ! The kids will love seeing and experiencing this moment.
At night you will hear all the sounds of nature! The private dock allows you to kayak or boat or fish! Nestled on the northern part of the Outer Banks, fishing in Corolla, NC, provides easy access to brackish and freshwater to the west and the Gulf Stream to the east. In fact, Currituck Sound is one of those amazing places where freshwater and saltwater species live almost side-by-side. For a lot of anglers, that’s what you’d call a win-win combination. We’ll leave you to come to your own conclusion, and start off by showing all the species that call these waters home.
What can I catch?
Largemouth Bass, Catfish, Redfish, Flounder, Tuna, Striped Bass, Spanish Mackerel, Tarpon, Seatrout and more! Crabbing is also a popular family activity!
