This is an amazing property and Sherrie is a gracious host. Positioned up high on Mountain Top, the studio is on the ground floor of a larger solidly-built concrete house. Tastefully remodeled in 2023, it has a casually elegant decor themed with the crystal teal sea that surrounds St. Thomas. The front door opens onto a paver patio that gently transitions to a lush hillside garden with a large mango tree, banana trees, giant 10-15ft tall "lobster claw" heliconia. Friendly anole perch on the rocks and tree trunks while coqui serenade you to sleep at night. The studio has everything one traveler may need for a stay including kitchen, twin day bed, linens, spacious closet, unique writing desk with in situ natural boulder, and private 3/4 bath. The location up on Mountain Top provides cool dry air and breathtaking views of Charlotte Amalie and the small islands off the south side of it. Magens Beach and Hull Beach are a short drive away. The host provides a comprehensive local guide book with all her favorite spots for swimming, snorkeling, dining, and shopping. The house does not have a GPS-able address and so it is important to follow the host's directions and set your GPS for either Fairchild Ln or the very nearby Fairchild Park (which is kind of defunct but still there). I found Sib's, Mafolie, and Moe's Northside to be the closest food options. DO NOT TAXI. Your best bet is to rent a small or mid-sized high clearance car. A Jeep Wrangler was perfect and priced right for me
