Keur Koura @The Ville is an immaculately clean space, safe, and cheap sleep in St. Louis! Come experience an authentic stay in a historical neighborhood. Just minutes from Downtown, St. Louis University, and Harris Stowe College campuses.
St. Louis annexed this area in 1876. Originally home to German and Irish immigrants and a small proportion of African Americans, the Ville is most widely recognized for the strength of the African American community that developed in the neighborhood by 1930. From 1911 to 1950, The Ville was the center of African American culture within the city of St. Louis.
The neighborhood is sketchy and didn't feel safe. The house has NO showers. There appears to be water damage that was painted over and looked like mold growing. After looking at site, we locked the door and left. I called VRBO for support in getting out of contract, but no support was provided. I feel like the house is misrepresented on your website. Shame on VRBO for allowing this place to use your brand.

Great place, great hostess!
The home was very clean & properly supplied. Dr Koura was very quick to respond to any issue that arose. Me & my bridal party were comfortable & enjoyed the claw foot tubs in the baths. A nice bonus is the private little deck & yard in back! Thank you Dr Koura!

Stay for trip to zoo.
Close to zoo . Communication with owner was great. Table was very smsll for a group of 7. No tv which is did not say there was one. Didnt care for tubs at all. Plenty of sleeping room. If you are only going to sleep there and be gone rest of time it is a great place. Kitchen could use a very more dinner ware but we managed. Overall it was a enjoyable stay. Very quite neighborhood.

would not recommend
I would not recommend booking this place. The neighborhood is not quiet as stated in the listing, my group heard gun shots multiple nights in a row as well as it is right down the street from a drug house. A lot of the lights for the main rooms do not work so it’s hard to see once it gets dark outside. A few nights before we left one of the alarms just beeped every minute loudly up until the day we left. When pulling the sheets down to lay down on the beds we heard stuff falling off the sheet's so I’m not sure if they’re ever washed. There is no shower just two very dirty tubs( they have brown stains and one even had a persons hair all over in it) with no shower curtains at all and you would have to hold the shower head if you do want to use shower. There was also bugs all over the floor and sheets which I mentioned to the host and he didnt care at all and claimed the cleaner “must have missed that” Overall I just don’t think this place will accommodate anyone regardless of how often you’re planning on being at the property. I wasn’t that concerned when booking it because it was just a work trip and we aren’t ever at our places long enough but to eat and sleep but this place was hard to even sleep and shower at would highly recommend spending a little extra money for a place you will actually feel comfortable and clean sleeping at, I definitely will next time.
