Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is house is on a quiet street not far from the beach. The Kitchen is well stocked, but the cleaners did not wipe it down. Cabinets and counters were dirty. The sink looked like no one had ever cleaned it - gross! the welcome package was supposed to come with a dish sponge but we did not get a sponge. The bathroom upstairs has a broken fan. The ceiling fan in the living room doesn't have remote. The floor felt like no one swept it, so we didn't bother not wearing our shoes in the house. There are lots of pool and beach supplies and the bikes were in good condition (except one had a broken chain). The house has nice furniture, just should have been cleaned better, oh and fix the fan in the bathroom.

It was a short walk to the beach and not far from Duck and Corolla. Plenty of fun things to do. The house was nice and fairly well maintained. Loved the covered decks but they need to fix the loose boards. Bathrooms were good but could use some upgrades. The fan in the upstairs bathroom needs to be fixed and a screen put in the window. We don't expect a rental property to be perfect but for the cost I think they should do some updating.We had a good experience dealing with the Management Company (Beach Realty) and thought they were very responsive.Overall, we would recommend a stay here.

We got lots of beach and pool time in, and made good use of the play area and toys provided. The house was very clean but I wished the outside had been a bit better. Great North Duck retreat!

We loved our stay at this lovely home in duck. You can see the new owners are taking a lot of care in updating this beautiful home. It’s really well equipped for large groups, has super comfy beds and beautiful rooms, the pool and hot tub were also so awesome to have access to between beach time. Would recommend this to anyone that asked! Hope we get to stay again.

Top of the lot. Great Family place

We were a family of 6 adults and 3 young children. The playground at the garage level was a treat with swings, slide, etc. The amount of beach equipment was huge. The kitchen had everything and then some. On top pf this, the house is in excellent shape. The walk to the beach is about 275 years. The drive to Duck is 5 minutes.

Wonderful Family Destination

The fee we paid for housekeeping was unacceptable. The kitchen was not cleaned, the countertops dirty from the last set of guest, the oven had left over food caked to the bottom, the microwave had not been cleaned, the knife block had food sprayed up on it, the freezer had colored ice sticking to the bottom and the extra refrigerator outside smelled of fresh fish - I definitely don't found this "Clean or sanitary"! The grass was knee-deep when we arrived and the garbage cans were still in the front of the house empty. We arrived at the house shortly after 4PM check in time.There was plenty of room for our kids and grandkids to relax in the house, on the numerous decks, pool area and in the hot tub. The kitchen is large enough for several people to cook, clean up, etc. at the same time. The large table and array of bar stools made eating all at once a plus! The house is located on a private community street. The beach is a short hike from the house. The owners have board games, bikes, beach items, etc for your use. The sand and swings under the house were a great treat for the kids in the evening or mid-day to stay out of the sun. Plenty of parking under the house and driveway for 8 cars/trucks. The age of the house is somewhat apparent, but is overall in rather good shape.There is a pottery artist located a few houses up with some fantastic handmade items. There is a reasonably priced parasailing, jetski, boat, etc rental establishment at the entrance of the street. We would consider staying here again!

Not as wonderful the second time around

Our first was in 2013 and even though the house has been updated, I was disappointed by the overall cleanliness of the home. Upon arrival, previous guests had left used rafts etc in the driveway that had not been discarded. The chests that delivered the sheets and towels were never picked up all week even though we called and asked them to be. It did not appear that the pool had been cleaned before our arrival and the pool deck had not been straightened. The fitted sheet on the king size bed in the master on the upper level, DID NOT FIT and we spent the entire week, wrestling with the sheets in an attempt to keep them on the bed. The throw rugs placed around the house, were covered in sand and had not been vacuumed or shaken out. Our dog lost a toy under the couch in the living room and when we moved it we found lots of sand, a pair of flip flops and a dog toy. We also spend the week cleaning up the dog hair from the previous pet the week before. I am aware that this home allows pets, in fact we brought ours, but it should be well cleaned between stays. Also the cabinets in the kitchen are peeling and should be repaired. The dish drainer is filthy and needs to be replaced.On a positive note, we did appreciate the lay out of the house, the large kitchen and thoroughly enjoyed the porches, hammock and pool (once cleaned).

It provided more than we needed and that was a great surprise. Several bikes and beach chairs were available and the beach wagon was the the icing on the cake. It was so easy to take our short walk down to the beach with all our things in the wagon. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. Kitchen was fully stocked with plates, cups, silverware, pits and pans and anything else you need in the kitchen.

Wonderful place for a big family!

Reviewer Comments: In looking for our beach house this year we needed to have a short distance to walk since we were traveling with a 4 year old and 9 month old, and were also looking for a house big enough to host our four person family, my brother and his wife, and my father, along with two dogs. This house was absolutely great, and could have easily fit a few more family members. The pool was especially nice in the evenings as it was in the shade so we didn't have to bother with a sunscreen reapplication.

The owners provided lots of nice touches like games and puzzles. We really enjoyed all the outdoor spaces too! The only suggestions would be to replace the cleaning company because they are NOT doing a good job!! Refrigerator was pretty nasty, cobwebs all over the place, and counters were sticky, and there was a very strong musky/moldy smell downstairs. The outdoor furniture needs a serious powerwashing too. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

We spent much time cooking, having cocktails, dining and playing games while enjoying the splendid and openly spacious modern kitchen and dining space. Two of the three decks and pool also perfect! We did however, for the third year, have cleaning issues upon arrival and the hot tub was not fixed for 6 days despite tenacious inquiries and request. The owner of property was fantastic and responsive, providing immediate approval for outdoor bug treatment and Nick Morton at Beach Realty is a superstar! Solicitous, patient, responsive and he jumps hurdles to resolve all issues! Bonus is close bikeable location to Duck and three minute walk to beach! Highly recommend!

Beach Vacation, Duck

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, a good family time. Weather was bad most of the week, but, that's a risk we take when we plan a beach trip.
