This being our first time on MV, I had done some research on the different towns and thought I felt prepared for what to expect. I will say, I underestimated the liveliness of Oak Bluffs. All this to say that the house was amazing and the second I walked in and got that smell of salt air mixed with the wood, it brought me back to my childhood beach vacations. The house had every amenity we could think of and the hosts were fantastic. We did have neighbors staying in the upstairs apartment and they were there for the nightlife. They weren’t loud, but due to the creaky floors, we could hear them coming home from a fun night out each night. Additionally, the house is set on a very busy street that is basically a thoroughfare for trucks to bring supplies to businesses so their routes start around 5AM. Between the late night wake ups and the early morning wake ups, we didn’t get as restful nights of sleep as we had hoped. I will say, the location was convenient to the shops and restaurants so I know location can come with a price. I think it’s good to know for folks who may not be heavy sleepers or those with pets or children that the noise may affect your sleep. We just know for our next stay to look at renting the upstairs unit in addition to the downstairs and bring some earplugs. We did, however, absolutely love the quaintness of the home. The landscaping was beautiful and the backyard patio was such a nice spot to relax and unwind with a glass of wine.
