Hello, Thank you for leaving a 3 star review about my home. I’m pleased to know that you thought the place was clean when you arrived. I send each guest detailed instructions about the house prior to their stay and confirm that they have read what I sent. If you had read the instructions carefully, you would have seen that I mentioned that I do not provide soap, shampoo, and other personal hygiene products due to my tenant’s individual's allergies. It is implied that you bring your own bathroom essentials. However, I provide hand soap for each bathroom and kitchen. In addition, my cleaning lady always leaves two toilet paper roles in each bathroom, not one. There are always extra trash bags under the kitchen sink. In terms of the lockbox, I had mentioned in the instructions that the lockbox is located on the wooden wall of the basement, not by the front door like your group thought at the check-in time. I have had no prior guests that found it difficult to find and access the lockbox. There is no need to kneel down to open the lockbox either. There is also exterior lighting by the lockbox, front door, and back door. You just need to turn the switch on. Therefore, what you have mentioned in this review should not have come as a surprise to you because I did mention those in the instructions that I sent to you. Before someone books with me, I inform them that I do not provide linens/bedsheets/towels/beach towels and I give them the website and number of the company on the island that rents out linens to guests. When I informed you of this, you had said that you did notice this under the amenities & notes section, so I’m not quite sure why this is a complaint of yours. I apologize for your dissatisfaction with the bathroom space, lighting, and mirror. There are pictures of each and every room of the house that guests can look at before arriving to the home so they can get a sense of the property. I have never had a guest that mentioned a problem with the lighting, or mirror in the bathroom. There are standard light fixtures in the bathrooms that provide adequate light. The cottages were built many years ago on Martha's Vineyard and part of the charm of the cottages are the small spaces. The whole interior of the house was renovated a few years ago, but unfortunately we couldn't make the bathrooms bigger without drastically changing the construction of the cottage. I have been in contact with VRBO and they suggested that I reply to your review on this public forum so that other guests can be knowledgable of the home prior to their stay and so that they won’t make the same mistake of not reading the detailed instructions clearly. There is ONE key provided for the house, but unfortunately I can’t explain why on the public forum. I make sure that each of my guests have a way of getting in touch and communicating with me before, during, and/or after their stay. I always do my best to make sure that my guests have a pleasurable and wonderful time on the vineyard. We all should be more happy and enjoy the little things in life, because one day you will look back, and realize they were the big things! Thank you again for your review.
