Exactly as described and great stay

This is an oversized 50s cabin right on the water that we stayed at in the dead of winter. It is very charming and includes most of the original features. Everything works, beds are comfy, and we had a great stay!

Fun lakefront vacation get-away!

Quiet lakefront cottage on Long Lake within short driving distance to Traverse City. Plenty of room to spread out, enjoy a bonfire and dine in or explore the local attractions.

Reviewer Comments: Ok but things didn’t work like tv in main room coffee put had a sign on it that it was broken luckily I was able to get ahold of management they sent over a new one , but I was surprised the cleaning lady didn’t report or replace it the floors were sticky and two of the fans were shot otherwise was pleasant.

Lovely property for our family! The kitchen, however, was ill-supplied i.e. lots of mis-matched and/or lidless old pots and pans, all poorly organized - we had to search to find two decent fry pans, only one of which had a lid, and there are lots of spacious cabinets, largely empty, to search through. The kitchen table overlooking the lake was wonderful - we played a lot of cribbage there - and the little desk nook was perfect for our laptop. What a beautiful lake, and if the weather had cooperated we would have spent most of our time outdoors - unfortunately it was very cold and rainy. So nice to have a fireplace and lots of wood to take the chill off - a much-appreciated warm and cozy up-north vibe.

This was a last minute booking so I was worried we wouldn't like the house. It was a really good deal. We pulled up after my mom and brother had gotten there and my mom walked out with a thumbs up. She immediately said I love this place! It's an older home, but a feel of a cottage. My husband and two kids (age 6 and 8) all had a great time. We had a fire and the kids loved picking a room. My mom said she would love to rent this house again. Thank you!

Place was mostly clean, more thourough cleaning was needed in the kitchen. Nice cabin on the lake, that has obviously had numerous adds over the years to accommodate more people.

Lovely Long Lake property

Great neighborhood, wonderful lake. Location is very convenient to Traverse City and Interlochen. Due to circumstances beyond anyone's control, a massive storm blew through the area and destroyed the dock just before we arrived. So, we were not able to take full advantage of the property. The owner/management company did what they could to address our concerns.

It was clean, comfortable, with all of the necessary amenities (including TV and Internet). The only thing that we had to do was a bit of grocery shopping nearby, as there was no need to shop ahead and drag it with us.

The place was just as described and we all had a great time staying there. Access to the lake was a little tricky but it's winter in Michigan. We shoveled a little snow and cleared a good path to the lake. If only the fish would have been biting....

It has a great swimming area ..shallow & sandy for the kids.. it seemed whenever anyone went out fishing they caught something!! Splash Landing easily accommodates all of us, our boat, our assembled toys and games. It is on a lovely, quiet setting and with a park nearby, allows the kids do their own thing. It's proximity to Traverse, groceries and restaurants makes for a well-rounded vacation. We love the up north feel of the house and the homage to H. Clarence Frye gives a true sense of family tradition. Hope to make it part of ours, as well!

Reviewer Comments: This house is in a great location but with the amount we paid for the week you would think they could afford to update it, and this house needs some serious updating. It is so old and musty. Good thing we were outside the majority of our stay.
