I've stayed here many times in the past. It was very clean and tidy. Had everything I needed. Peaceful and quiet. I need to cook, so am always happy to stay where the kitchen is fully equipped. The beach is 34 steps down, but when you get there it's always a WOW moment. I love it there.

The views were stunning, and we were thrilled to witness the northern lights, a comet, and even a halo moon, (which we’ve never seen before)! The lake and fall colors added so much beauty to the experience. It’s a great place to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of northern Michigan. We’d definitely recommend it for a relaxing getaway.

Perfect weather all week made for lots of time spent strolling the beach, making stone flowers in the sand, collecting fossilized rocks, and watching the beautiful sunsets and moonsets (super moon week). Couldn't believe how calm the lake was and how refreshing to get in the water. The cottage was so relaxing and had everything we needed to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable.

Unique and Beautiful Location

Super unique and cute house. It was super warm inside even despite the high winds at night coming off the lake which was great. The interior had everything needed for a cozy stay, and was very dog friendly. The cleaning service could do a better job. There was dust all over the furniture and under the master bed it looked like it hadn’t been touched in a long time, my dog was obsessed with trying to clean up whatever was under it. Possible the place had sat empty for awhile before we stayed. Overall a great place for the value we paid in late October, with lots to do around the local area during color change. The biggest issue was the cleanliness when we arrived but it wasn’t bothersome enough to put a damper on the trip and we would return again. The outdoors was more overgrown then I’d expect for that area. Beware of ticks if you have a dog and go down to the beach, we found about 20 total on ourselves and our dog over the course of two days in late October from just one walk down to the beach. The stairs to the beach are a bit intense if you are not an able bodied adult as well. The outdoor grill is in rough shape with a couple burners that didn’t look function. We didn’t find out if it was as the propane tank was empty, but wasn’t too big of a deal as we just cooked inside instead. Overall it had a beautiful view of the lake, and if it was summer the beach itself would compensate for any other issues.

Great Location but Exterior Maintenance REALLY Lacking

Windows and screens are covered in spider webs and landscape debris, grass not cut, and access to beach is treacherous which is not mentioned in description. But home is clean and comfortable.

Great Location, Challenging Hike to the Beach

We would have loved if the windows and screens were clean; lots of webs and dead bugs 😕 inside and out. The carpeting is fairly grundgy. Hard surface flooring would be a perfect upgrade. BUT overall such a beautiful comfortable setting. FYI- the hike to the beach is challenging especially when carrying chairs, coolers, kids, dogs, etc. but once you’re there the beach is FABULOUS!

Great locations!

We enjoyed our visit and the location was great! Very disappointed with the water in the house, its smell horrible like a rotten-egg. We had to brush our teeth with bottle water. And the house need to be more clean. When we get there the dinning table and the counter so dusty!

Cozy dome home nestled in the forest!

The windows all across the front of the home made this cabin for me. The views of the forest and Lake Michigan were magical. The wood burning stove was such a treat in the evening. We lounged on the deck for hours. The kitchen was fully stocked which made it a breeze to make our meals. It is close to town and many outdoor adventures. Surrounded by beautiful nature! Would definitely recommend this lovely cabin.

Relax and Restore

The view of the lake through the trees is beautiful, especially the sunsets! Access to the lake is down 30 or so steps through the woods but you are rewarded with a shed full of "lake gear" floats, sand shovels & buckets, life preservers, lounge chairs, etc. Also a fire pit that is sheltered by the dune. Once you get to the beach you are rewarded with sandy, rocky beach in either direction...you could walk for hours! And we did! The house is comfy and has a fully stocked kitchen. We cooked and grilled all our meals! The washer & dryer made it so convenient! This was our 3nd year there and wed highly recommend it!

It's got incredible views and access to the lake and is a short drive into the adorable town of Northport. While much of the week was enjoyed soaking up the sun and the waves on the beach, there are also several great hiking trails within a half hour of home, as well as other cute upnorth towns such as Leland and Suttons Bay to explore. Visit Up North has been great to work with -- I appreciate being able to access all my rental info via email and through their app. Would love to visit again!

Amazing Place!

Was an amazing trip! Definitely recommended, private beach area is so beautiful. Great to have the dog with us! Would recommend bringing bug spray and plenty of food to cook in the kitchen.
