Upon arrival, our host did not list us as a renter and guard shack would not let us into the resort. We were at the guard shack for 2-1/2 hours trying to make contact with our host. I called him 3 times and my call went to voicemail. I then called VRBO and they could not reach him either. When the host eventually responded back, he tells us he forgot to hit the send button when he was supposedly registering us as a guest. I don't believe this excuse, I believe he just didn't do it. Needless to say, my wife and I were extremely upset to waste this time sitting in our car. VRBO said they would try to find another property for us and we would have to stay in a hotel for the night at our expense. We said we did not want to do that. Extremely poor customer service and not the way you want to start your vacation.The condo was great except for cleanliness. There was lettuce on the floor and bread crumbs on the counter. We swept the condo and should have washed the floor but we didn't want to do that on our vacation. Great condo and very well stocked, however, it needs a good cleaning. The owner pays a cleaning service and he is not getting what he pays for.PS : Also, VRBO provided us with a code to enter the condo saying it was the last 4 digits of our phone number. It was not and we couldn't open the door. The owner told us that it is not the code and gave us the correct code and he had no idea where VRBO got this information. Not very impressed with VRBO !!!
