In town, its simply known as "Hattie's", and she's always been known for her friendly smile. Whether you are visiting family, joining a special event, or planning local adventures, we hope you love staying at Hattie's. We’re just a 10 minute scenic drive from Winona (WSU/St Mary's University), Whitewater State Park, and Prairie Island. Nearby, you'll find epic hiking (Whitewater State Park), biking, snowmobiling, hunting, kayaking, boating and fishing. Explore wine tasting just up the hill at Whitewater Wines, or just relax, and enjoy a stroll with friends and family in this very walkable town.

Hattie's Place is an entire apartment with a private entrance located above the once Jung and River's Mercantile (1850s). Our restored 800 square foot 2nd floor flat is newly refinished to offer the most comfy combination of old and new, and a touch of Rollingstone's Luxemburg history. We can accommodate up to 4 guests with a king bed in the spacious bedroom and a full murphy bed and queen sofa sleeper in the living room (all quality memory foam mattresses).

If you enjoy cooking, the kitchen is fully stocked with appliances and cookware for you. Or, just wake up to a fresh cup of Nespresso, and enjoy breakfast/lunch next door any day of the week at the local 5-star rated cafe—Bonnie Rae's. In the summer, sip and take in the hilltop views from outside mini bar top and bistro table. For a convenient dinner, drive 10 minutes through the hillsides and you will find Eagle View Bar & Grill in Minneiska, or local restaurants in Winona.

A washer and dryer is available in the apartment for you to use. Free parking is available in front of Hattie’s Place and in front of the building. Covered parking is available in the winter. Private parking is available for vehicles, boats, trailers, etc., upon request. Please reach out to us if you would like to make arrangements for private parking. We offer keyless check-in. We can provide key access if needed. Apologies, we have no elevator and pets are not allowed. As owners, we live next door. The storefront below now serves local businesses as quiet office space. Rollingstone is a community of 700 with Luxemburg heritage dating back to mid 1800’s. On your way, along both sides of The River, take in the scenic bluff country with water-to-woods views and unique stops along the way. Groceries can be ordered/delivered from Winona HyVee by appointment (See HyVee app, Aisles Online Delivery Services) or basics can be found within 5 minutes at Cenex or Kwik Trip.

Cozy with thoughtful touches

Hattie’s Place is such a gem! Beautifully curated and comfortable, the hosts have thought of everything from makeup towels to a full Brita pitcher in the fridge. Debra and Kathy offered great dining and activity suggestions and were lovely and friendly. There’s nothing to fault with this rental, highly recommended.

Wonderful stay in Rollingstone

The place was perfect for the 2 of us, but it can sleep more if needed. It was very clean and the kitchen was so well stocked with everything you need to cook meals. The bed was very comfortable with soft sheets and the other rooms were perfect. Comfortable living room and a little bench by the dining area that was perfect to relax in and read. Also close to Winona. We would definitely stay here again.

Clean & comfortable

Would definitely stay here again. Comfortable (love the memory foam mattresses) and extremely clean and well stocked. We debated staying in Winona and are so thankful we didn’t (the traffic!) This was the perfect location for hitting all the state parks in this corner of MN. One thing to clarify: the bathroom is inside the bedroom so the living room guests have to enter the bedroom at night. A couple of things we would change if we could: a regular coffee maker would be great. My coffee-drinker friend did not like the Nespresso and she thinks the french press is too much work. Also, the unit was very heavily scented when we arrived (cleaning products, air freshener??) and it still smelled days later even with the windows open. I’m allergic to all artificial perfume scents so that resulted in a few uncomfortable days for me.

Wonderful quiet and modern apartment

We stayed at Hattie's place to visit family in Rollingstone. The apartment is in a perfect location and parking is a breeze. It has been recently remodeled, and it has all of the amenities a visitor would need. My wife and I will definitely stay at Hattie's Place again! Thanks Debra!

A Gem in Rollingstone!

My son and daughter-in-law stayed at Hattie's Place when our house was full with family over the holidays. It was the perfect apartment for them to stay at, and they raved about it! It far exceeded their expectations and they absolutely loved it. They also enjoyed having breakfast at Bonnie Rae's, the restaurant downstairs. This apartment is spacious and well decorated, so comfy and cozy. It's a great option for locals who need extra space for guests. We live in the rural area surrounding Rollingstone, so this was a handy spot for us, and even closer than a hotel in Winona, and certainly more unique, comfortable and memorable! For those from out of town, I think Rollingstone itself, is a remarkably picturesque village. It's close to Winona if you're in the area for an event there. I would encourage anyone to stay at Hattie's Place. What a hidden treasure in the heart of the bluffs and picturesque Rollingstone, Minnesota!

Holiday visit to our family

We booked on a relatively short timeframe and was please to find this available. There’s plenty of space and nicely decorated with all necessary appliances. It’s cozy, comforting and you feel at home quickly. We will certainly look for it to be available at our next visit. The historical photos and decorations make for an interesting experience.

Winona Homecoming

The rental was exactly what we hoped! It was beautiful, well kept, and VERY well stocked with all that we could’ve needed. We had an issue with the electronic lock on the door, but the owners of the VRBO live nearby and were able to get us in without any issues. It fit 6 of us very comfortably. Would definitely stay here again next year!!

Our family is of Luxembourgish descent and have lived in Rollingstone since it's early settlement in the 1850s. We love this community and are thrilled to now be able to offer a local, cozy place for visitors to stay.

We are very fortunate. Just 2 hours from the Twin Cities, 45 minutes from Rochester, 10 minutes from Winona, I love that it's easy to travel the world, enjoy all that these cities offer, and come "home" to this community filled with kind people and Mother Nature's greatest gifts--beautiful landscapes, waters to woods, seamless off-path to on-path experiences.
