The Neighborhood:
Located in the beautiful Chamberlands neighborhood, the home is surrounded by a beautiful forested area and is in an excellent location for enjoying everything Lake Tahoe has to offer. In the winter months, you are minutes away from the slopes, with Homewood Ski Resort just a quick 4-minute drive away! Or, visit Palisades Tahoe and Tahoe Donner Cross Country Ski Center. Check out Paige Meadows for some great XC skiing or snowshoeing in the winter and high alpine hiking in the summer. These trails connect you to the Pacific Crest Trail and the Tahoe Rim Trail.
During the summer months, head to Chambers Landing, a beautiful small beach just a 1.5 miles away where you can spend the day playing in the water and on the lovely sand beach of Lake Tahoe. Before heading home, grab dinner at the popular restaurant and bar located by the beach. Or, head up to Commons Beach, a popular 4-acre beach and park less than 15 minutes away. Here you can rent any type of watercraft imaginable, and enjoy great swimming, and BBQ areas. Or, make a quick 5-minute drive up the road to the famous Sunnyside Restaurant and Marina, where you can find great food and watercraft rentals.
For those in your group looking for a little less outdoor time, Tahoe City is less than a 15-minute drive where you will find many cute boutique shops, a wide variety of bars and restaurants, farmers markets, and live music. When it comes to a great location for everything Lake Tahoe has to offer, this house cannot be beaten!
Getting Around:
Guests at this home can easily explore all the area has to offer–even without a vehicle–thanks to the public transportation TART stop that is just a half-mile walk from your front door! A quick ten-minute walk will take you to the TART stop HWY 89 at Chambers Landing which runs every hour. Be in Tahoe City with a 10-minute bus ride and connect to other routes to reach the surrounding areas and to the ski resorts.
For those with a vehicle, enjoy the home’s close driving proximity to Tahoe City which is 8 miles away, and even use the FREE park-and-ride to reach locations such as Olympic Park and Northstar California Resort. With HWY 89 just minutes away, you can easily make day trips to many of the stunning surrounding areas located around Tahoe City.
Other Things to Note:
Please note that, like most homes in the area, this home does not have A/C.
Chambers Landing, private pool/beach access. Please return the keycard upon check out. Lost or missing cards will be subject to a $150 guest fee.
Please note, the heated pool opens on June 22, which is the typical opening weekend in mid-June. Beach staffing also begins in mid-June. Sign-up sheets for the tennis courts are available, which remain open until dark, and an access code is required.
Please keep in mind that if you plan to ski, you are responsible for verifying the ski resorts' opening and closing dates.
Charcoal grills are strictly forbidden in this county and will result in a $1,500 citation if used.
4-wheel drive or 2-wheel drive tires with snow chains may be necessary for safe travel to this property, even if it hasn’t snowed in a few days.
