Wonderful owner with quick response time. Home is dated. Bathroom needs some tlc. Some mold issues in the bathroom. The home is situated behind the actual address. The pool was secure, clean and a nice touch. The kitchen lacked the essentials. No pasta strainer, no large bowls and no large pots. The fridge froze all the vegetables, but it did make ice quickly. Three window air conditioners kept the place cool. The furniture is basic but clean. Ant and roach traps thru out the home. Nice book collection.

This cozy house is just a short walk from the beach, making it super convenient for beach lovers! It has everything you need: two bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a living room. It was the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway!

Host, location, size of house for two people were all perfect! The host replied very quickly and provided check-in information before check-in time. Access to the pool is great too! A porch or some sort of outside sitting area would be so great! All in all, it is a great spot !

Great place for small family

Single mom of 2 here...we went down and had a blast! It is a very short walk to the beach. Owner was very helpful and great to communicate with...we will definitely be staying there again

Ok stay, close to beach

Ok stay close to beach, electrical issues exist. Got a shock pulling ceiling fan....oven was on by itself.

fantastic place, and so close to the beach!!!

We had a great time in the house this year. Sally was very responsive when we texted her for anything. It is fantastic to have a place that already stocks linens and towels and beds are made. One less thing to pack. It is a cute small house depending on the number of people one has. The house has all the basic necessities. It is really just about 1 block to the beach. We would definitely stay there again.

Great First Visit to OBX

The property was as described in listing. There were four of us (1 adult and 3 minors). The home fit our needs perfectly. The owner was very helpful with check-in. Owner also texted about the weather closing the beaches to swimming one day. It was a gesture that we appreciated. Very convenient location to beach and nearby shopping and restaurants. No issues with the property while we were there.

Nice little beach house!

The property was very clean. This is a huge plus for us! Enough space for 2 adults and 2 kids. Kitchen had all the necessities. The house is a bit old, with window air conditioners that were a little noisy and pain to control. Also there is no dishwasher or washer/drier, but it wasn’t a big deal because we came on a car and brought extra outfits with us. And host provided tons of extra towels! Water pressure in the bathroom was kinda low. Location is good, a short walk to the beach. Overall we loved our stay, and communication with Sally was great!

Location was perfect

Proximity to the beach was perfect. With that said, I knew that I didn't rent a mini mansion but I didn't think that I rented a place with college dorm furniture that wasn't comfortable for adults. I also expected to have working electrical outlets instead of having extension cards being used. There was a mold issue in the bathroom. The owner got hold of their cleaners. It took 3 days for the cleaners to take care of it.

Communication was challenging with the owner - she seemed overwhelmed and experienced issues using the VRBO system. Once we had a reservation (24 hours prior to arrival), we didn’t receive address until I repeatedly messaged. We were able to check in approximately 1 hour after stated checkin time. The owner stated that previous renters had caused several damages, but former reviews indicated that some had existed for a few years (electrical challenges). The listing indicated a discount for last minute rental but due to owners challenges with system, we didn’t receive discount (30 per night). The interior was dirty and lacked amenities noted in listing. We found 1 partial roll of toilet paper so bought a package and left it for next renters. This is a fantastic location and has tremendous potential. Communication by owner, unclean conditions, and several broken items would prevent me from renting again.

Check in was at 4, I arrived at 6 to find someone sleeping in one of the bedrooms. I was told its the cleaning ladies daughter and she was sick. Obviously the house had not been cleaned. They did do a quick run through. I had to buy lysol spray and wipes. The address isnt clearly stated. The owner nor her husband responded to my text. Her instructions ask the renter to text her when they are an hour away for the door code. There was a 3rd number listed. I contacted that person and she was giving me an address to a house in VA beach. I rented in Kitty Hawk. The entire thing was a mess. I really dont know how this is possible on VRBO. The fan in the living room doesnt look like its been cleaned for years. There was a pair of pink slippers under the bed that couldnt be missed. Again this shows the lack of cleaning.

Close to Beach- Very Dated

While this rental was at a great location for the beach, the rental itself is in need of a lot of work. The door lock did not work while we were there, so we texted the property owner, who responded over 12 hours later contacting someone who came to replace the battery. The entire process was almost 18 hours. Thankfully the AC units are easily removed from the outside of the house so my daughter could climb through the window- however this also shows how unsecure the property is. The kitchen is claimed to be recently renovated however the appliances are all old, fridge has rust on the side and mold in the inside. The flooring was replaced, in the main living area, but the renters are left with only a broom to fight the sand throughout the living space for the entirety of the week. The furniture in the living room is terrible and could used to be replaced; I had better furniture in college. If you're looking for proximity to the beach this is a small but a convenient location. However, any bad weather that leaves you inside will get old very quick. The 32" TV and terrible furniture with no porch to sit on is less than desirable. There is a pool, however it closes at 8pm, and there is no furniture to sit around it. A neighbor has put multiple cameras around the pool, of which one has a siren that goes off continually while the pool is in use.

Great location!

The location of this property was amazing. We were steps from the pool and a two-minute walk from beach access. It was a perfect place to stay for an end-of-summer trip with our family of 5. Communication with the property manager was wonderful. She responded quickly to questions we had.

Great location, no frills spot

Location was excellent, short walk to the beach. The shared pool was a great feature, it's locked with a key pad which made us feel secure about our kids not being able to access it alone. The house is no frills but had most our basic necessities.

Short walk to beach

This place is very cozy. Prefect place to stay with a small family or couple. It's very simple, no 'bells and whistles" but all basic necessities where provided. It's in a perfect location, very short walk to the pool and the beach.

Close to beach and pool

We enjoyed our stay with the close access to the beach and pool. The drive thru, gas station and accessibility to beach shops and restaurants were less than 5 minutes away. A few things didn’t work/were broken and we let the owner know. She was great to work with. The house was a little out dated/needed some fixing but overall we enjoyed the stay!

Older but good price and location

Beach access just across the street and pool in front of cottage were great. Bring beach chairs as the ones at the cottage were the sport chair type. Good neighborhood to ride bikes in. Needs some updating in bath and kitchen but for a couple who isn't picky it was fine. No front porch or outside shower so tracked in a lot of sand. The "sofa" is hard as a rock but the 2 chairs were comfy. We enjoyed our stay.
